Split Stencil Snowflake

Gina K. Designs December Monthly Mix Challenge is Split Stencil - use two TWO different background stencils to create a card.  Gina used her two stencils to create more of a landscape.  Of course, I had to stretch the rules a bit and try layering two stencils ... and I love how it turned out.

I started with Gina K. Designs light Carnation Ink and the Gina K. Designs Water Droplet Stencil.

 

 

Next, I positioned the Gina K. Designs Stellar Snowflake Stencil on top using her Medium Carnation Ink around the edges, and then the Dark Carnation Ink in the center.  I finished with my sentiment from Gina K. Designs It's All You MINI stamped in Dark Carnation Ink and positioned in the center with foam tape.

And my Big Snowflake had its inspiration at the Hand Stamped Sentiment Challenge.

Red & White Winter

I love being part of the Sande Poema Cardmaking Community on Facebook.  She shares challenges, inspirations, and fun printables.  Today I made a card using her Wednesday red & white inspiration paired with her free red & white printable stickers.

 

 

I used Gina K. Designs double-stitched circle dies to cut out three of the stickers.  I matted the center circle with red glitter paper and then attached it with foam tape overlapping the other two circles slightly.  I attached it all to red & white holiday tree designer paper.

 

 

I finished with two 1/8" strips of gold glitter paper to help frame the circles  I would have never thought to do a snow card in red & white, but I love it.

Got Snow?

The newest challenge at Shopping Our Stash is to make a winter card that is NOT Christmas.

 

 

I built my card using the Winter Fun Paper Collection at Carta Bella by Carina Gardner.  I added two favorite wood mounted stamps from Savvy Stamps and A Muse with a layout from The Paper Craft Crew Challenge.

 

I love those colors for a winter card ... and I love paper banners.

 

Uniko Snow Flurry Peace

Uniko is celebrating their 12 Days of Christmas with a fun Linky Hop.

 

 

I love Bev's stamps and don't ink them up nearly enough, so I'm joining the fun.  I inked the Uniko Background Blocks Snow Flurry and then after stamping I sprayed with Shimmer Spray (why is it so hard to pick-up that glorious shimmer in photographs).  And to top it off, we've got snow falling this morning.

 

 

I added itty bitty bits of bling to the snowflake centers and added a blue frame to make it pop.  I finished with a Peace on Earth Sentiment from Uniko Simply Said Blocks Christmas.

Dancin' Yeti

When I saw a post featuring Rocky the Dancin' Yeti by Spellbinders, I knew I had to have him.  I had fun putting him together using the colors from the Color Throwdown Challenge.

 

 

I finished with a sentiment from Scrapbook.com Wordfetti December.  I love how his little legs swing back and forth.

 

Fruity Holiday Wishes

When I saw the Just Add Ink Add Fruit Challenge, I went shopping through my stash to see what I might have.  I found this Pinkfresh Studio Holiday Spirit Stamp set from last year's Create & Connect event that had never been inked.

I stamped the images and used the coordinating stencils to add color (for the Just Us Girls Stencil Challenge).

 

 

I used the layout from The Paper Players adding a strip of silver vellum behind the Pinkfresh Studio Notched Corner Frame on a piece of Alcohol Ink Designer Paper.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set.

 

 

 

Snow Loved

The November Memory Box Challenge is Food and Drink. 

 

 

I had fun giving the Memory Box Layered Polar Bear his own Iced Coffee with an Eyelet Outlet Iced Coffee Brad. 

I also added the scarf from the Memory Box Tall Bundled Snowman Die cut from a plaid designer paper (with inking on the bottom layers) to keep him warm in the swirling snow from the Simon Says Stamp Swirling Snowflakes Embossing Folder that was sprayed with Therm-o-web Silver Glitter Dust Spray.

 

 

I finished with a sentiment from PaperTrey Ink Just Sentiments - Snow.

 

 

My scarved polar bear in the snow with his coffee beverage also took it's inspiration from the Just Us Girls Mood Board.  I'm also linking-up at the Food or Drink Challenge at Make My Monday Challenge.

Snowman Christmas

I spent quite a bit of time this weekend pulling my studio back from the state of chaos it had digressed into.  In the process, I discovered this fun Lisa Horton Crafts Winter Snowman Layering Stencils & Die cut that must have come with some bundled purchase, because I didn't even remember having it.  

It looked so cute, I had to break it out for the Simon Says Christmas Challenge.

I stenciled using Taylored Expressions Die Inks and then die cut with the coordinating stencil and attached it to a white glitter panel.

 

 

II added a Catslife Press Sentiment moon into the snowy sky to finish the card.

 

Do You Want to Build a Snowman?

We're still SHAPING-up for the Holidays with Shaped Cards at Jingle Belles this week.

I think I had as much fun building this paper snowman as I did making them in the back yard as a child.  I always loved when the snow was deep enough that you didn't pick-up a lot of grass from the yard when you rolled your big balls of snow.

I die cut two circles from Glitter Cardstock and attached them to a card base, overlapping slightly at the left.  Then I cut the card base around my circles.

 

Next I got out my punches, scissors and stickers to finish decorating my cute little guy.  The hat is cut from black cardstock with a lovely gold shimmer.  I  couldn't resist giving him a little winter treat to enjoy.

Winter Wonderland

The newest challenge at Shopping Our Stash is Winter Wonderland - creating cards with a winter landscape or an all white card.

 

 

 

I die cut lots of white snowflakes from Essentials by Ellen Snowflakes and attached them to my white card base using foam tape for a few of them for dimension.  

 

 

I die cut the Lawn Fawn Giant Let It Snow sentiment from silver-white glitter paper.  

 

 

I'm also joining the Simon Says Instagram Challenge of White-on-White.
