More WCMD Stencil Fun

I am having such a relaxing birthday morning ... rain outside, but it is light enough to have the windows open and let in the cool autumn air ... Premier League Soccer on the television ... and lots of ink in my studio ... nothing better.

I'm still joining the Winnie & Walter World Card Making Day Challenges.  For my next card, I made a Clean & Simple Card Design.  I used my MISTI to do more ink blending with the Morse Code Stencil from A Colorful Life ... I used Dusty Concord, Broken China & Seedless Preserves Distress Inks and my Make-Up Brush on Water Color Paper.

 

I used the same three colors of Distress Ink with my MISTI to ink the sentiment from Winnie & Walter The Big, The Bold and You.

For my next card, I used the Winnie & Walter Coordinating Die Cut Coloring Challenge with Kelly, since it was a technique I had never seen before.   It was a very fun & easy technique and produced a great background for my card.

As I mentioned, my Winnie & Walter Stash is limited to sentiment sets, so I had to pull out a Stamp set with Coordinating die from Reverse Confetti Hey Sugar for my card (because it's my birthday, I have cake-on-the-brain).

 

I used Wilted Violet Distress Ink for Stamping and Shaded Lilac Distress Ink for the stenciling.  I added a Hugs Sentiment from Winnie & Walter's The Big, the Bold and Comfort.  I'm also joining the Stock Your Stash Challenge at Reverse Confetti with my Friendship Card (because true friends are the ones who take you for some cake).

Winnie & Walter Word Card Making Day

I wanted to join in the Winnie & Walter World Card Making Day Challenges (you can see my CRAFTIE photo here) ... only one slight problem ... I only have 3 stamp sets from Winnie & Walter & 2 of them are sentiment sets (they do make amazing sentiment sets).  So clearly, I need to win this challenge, so I can add to my stash.

I started with inspiration from today's Featured Stamper at SplitcoastStampers ... the talented Jennifer Jackson.  I took my inspiration from her lovely stenciled design.

Unfortunately, most of my stencils have been mailed to New Jersey for the Gel Press Extravaganza that Lauren & I have planned for this week, so no pumpkins or leaves ... but I did have this lovely Classic Harlequin Stencil from Technique Junkies by A Colorful Life.  Remember, there's a World Card Making Day sale going on at Technique Junkies.

I pulled out my MISTI because it's not only a helpful tool for stamping ... I also use it for Stenciling.  I positioned my water color paper and held it in place with my long magnet.  Next, I placed  my stencil in the corner of my MISTI, so it stays in place in place and then I only have to add a single piece of tape at the top (rather than taping down multiple sides).

I used my make-up brushes (life changing) to Ink Blend three colors of Distress Ink for the Winnie & Walter Ink Blending Challenge with Lea.

I started with the lightest shade and moved to the darkest, going back with some Mustard Seed at the end.  That is one of the make-up (aka Stencil) brushes from this Set of 6.

Another great thing about using this MISTI Technique for Stenciling, is it's easy to lift up your Stencil and see how things look, and then put it right back in place to add more ink ... look at that gorgeous blending of color.

 

For my finished card, I used inspiration from Jennifer to mat my card with gold (I normally would have reached for a darker brown) and added a wrap of twine, as well as some glittery autumn leaves.  Rather than stamp my sentiment on a strip of paper (I felt like it covered-up too much of that gorgeous ink-blending) I used Acorn Versafine Clair ink to stamp the Sentiment from Winnie & Walter The Big, The Bold, and Comfort on top of my blended Distress Ink.  I also used Jennifer's inspiration for a combination of a bigger & smaller word for my sentiment.

When You Love Somebody

I used one of my Gel Press Prints I made with my MISTI using Distress Oxide inks as the background for this card.  STAMPlorations Crazy Double Running Stitch Nesting Rectangle Dies were used to cut my panels.

The layout is this week's Freshly Made Sketch.  I combined three different stamps ... the main sentiment is Inkadinkado Kate Harper from 2007; Love is from Impression Obsession; and you is from Winnie & Walter The Big, the Bold & You.

Anniversary in Bloom

The current Mix-It-Up Challenge at Essentials by Ellen is Winnie & Walter.

I had fun inking-up my new Winnie & Walter In Bloom - Eva's Favorite Flowers with all sorts of Rose & Orange inks.

I added a sentiment from Essentials by Ellen Totally Awesome in the darkest ink hue (Ranger Archival Monarch Orange).  I added a few paper flower and some enamel dots (both as design elements and to cover up some smudges ... when in doubt, embellish).

Share the Love

It's Day 5 of Winnie & Walter's Share the Love Challenge with Ellen Hutson's Essentials by Ellen.  I've had so much fun creating with both companies this week (and am thrilled to have my sympathy card stash restocked).

Today's Challenge is a Mood Board.

Can you tell which elements I incorporated into my design?

 

I used one of my gelli prints to incorporate both the stripes from the dress & the metallic gold throughout the design ... it also pulls in the oranges from the top right photo.  My sentiment from Winnie & Walter's The Big, The Bold & the Comfort was stamped in White Pigment Ink and embossed with White Embossing Powder to help it stand out against the busy background.

 

Next I added the layered butterfly element from the journaling page with some Eyelet Outlet Teal Sparkle Enamel Dots to complete the design.

There's only one problem with this card ... I got so caught-up in the design, I forgot to incorporate elements from Essentials by Ellen (Duh), so back to the drawing board.

I think my second card captures the feel of the Mood Board a bit more.

This time I incorporated the stripes both in my background paper & the tag ... a metallic paper clip (from the journal) ... golden glittery sparkle ... and Essentials by Ellen Bohemian Garden blooms that feel like the party pinwheels in the photo.  Sentiments are again Winnie & Walter The Big, the Bold & the Comfort.

Vellum Floral Comfort

I'm still having fun with Winnie & Walter's Share the Love Week with Essentials by Ellen.  Today's theme is Transparent.

I die cut Essentials by Ellen Bold Blossoms from Vellum paper and then sponged-on ink to add color.

Keeping it simple, I used Winnie & Walter's The Big, The Bold & Comfort (I adore that typewriter font) sentiment on Ivory Cardstock using this week's CAS(e) This Sketch.

You Got This

I'm on to day three of the Winnie & Walter Share the Love Challenge ... the theme is Background Building.

I started with Winnie & Walter Mini Scenery: Do You See What I See? and then added lots of stamps from Essentials by Ellen Bokeh Dots, one of my favorite Background Building sets.

I used this week's Freshly Made Sketch and added a sentiment & image from Essentials by Ellen Oh Frappe.

I'm also joining the Summer Coffee Lovers Blog Hop.

Sending Prayers

It's day two of the Winnie & Walter with Essentials by Ellen Share the Love Challenge ... and the theme is Sentimental.

I picked out a sentiment from Winnie & Walter's the Big, The Bold & Comfort using a layout from the As You See It Challenge.

I picked out some Red, White & Blue Designer papers from my stash and added EBE Bold Blossom Die Cuts as an accent.

Floral Comfort

I was thrilled to see that Winnie & Walter are pairing with Essentials by Ellen at their Share the Love Weekly Challenge.  

The theme for day 1 is Flowers.

I die cut Essentials by Ellen Mondo Magnolia from two papers and added an awesome Winnie & Walter Sentiment from The Big, The Bold and Comfort (my only Winnie & Walter set, but it's a winner for sure ... so many great words).
