STAMPlorations Giving Thanks Blog Hop

I'm thrilled to be joining in the 3rd Annual Giving Thanks Blog Hop & Wishlist Linky Party with STAMPlorations (and friends).

 

There are lots of new stamps that we'll be showcasing for this Hop. 

I got the opportunity to create using two of the new stamps.  The first is called Typografia Thankful - Thankful People.  I used several of my gel prints & my MISTI to create a mixed media card.  I used the two largest dies from 

I used the two largest dies from the CUTplorations Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting Dies to create my frame; and the smallest one for my sentiment.  I splattered my card base with purple ink and finished with some Eyelet Outlet Purple Zig Zag Washi Tape & Blue Enamel Dots and SRM Stickers Stitches.

My second card features Thy Goodness - Typografia Thankful and the Crisscrossed ARTplorations Stencil.

I used the CUTplorations Crazy Double Running Stitch Rectangle Nesting Dies in two sizes (because they are da' bomb) after I used Bo Bunny glitter paste with my stencil on an inky watercolor paper background.  I added felt leaves & pearls to finish my monochromatic design.

Autumn Dotty Blessings

I picked-up the Concord & 9th Dotty Turnabout Stamp when I was in NYC at The Ink Pad, and finally had the chance to ink it up.  I chose my most Autumn-like colors from my Distress Oxide Ink Collection (Antique Linen, Fossilized Amber, Wild Honey & Peacock Feathers) for Lori's Autumn Blessings Challenge at the Falliday Fest at SplitcoastStampers.

There is a grid on the back of the stamp set that helps you mark the center.  Then all you have to do is keep the stamp lined up on the marked center of your piece of cardstock as you rotate (you can see the mark in this photo).  Then with the paper positioned in the MISTI, you just rotate it a quarter-turn and stamp with the next color of ink.

I started with Antique Linen & then Fossilized Amber on a 6" square of ivory cardstock (you can see the pencil center mark below ... hint, wait until your ink dries completely before you try to erase the pencil mark ... don't ask me how I know this).

I finished with Wild Honey and then finally Peacock Feathers.

I ended-up trimming my piece to 4 1/4" x 5" and added a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp You Got This from STAMPtember.

I added a few sequins to finish the design.  

When I got back from NYC, I realized I had already purchased this stamp (Yep ... sometimes I like things so much, I buy them twice) ... so the extra brand new stamp set is included in my birthday box of goodies that will go to one lucky reader who leaves a comment on the BIRTHDAY BLOG POST (not here).

Corn Field Thanksgiving

The Challenge Theme at Impression Obsession is Thanksgiving.  I used my MISTI to ink-up my Impression Obsession Corn stamp using two shades of yellow and two hues of green.

I started by inking the corn portion of the stamp with light yellow and then inked again with a darker yellow around the edges.  Next I inked the green near the corn with an olive green and then inked a fourth time with library green around the edges.  I finished by inking the darker yellow one more time.  I love how I can use my MISTI to ink and clean between stampings and stamp multiple times to get the finished result I want.

Can't Thank You Enough

I love the circles in this week's Mojo Monday Sketch.

I used Doodlebug Flea Market Papers with stamps (Thanks So Very Much) & dies (Stitched Blooms) from My Favorite Things.

With my die cut circles & flowers, I'm joining Don't Pull Your Punches! at the Naughty or Nice Challenge (I'm going with nice today).

Grateful Autumn

I wanted to make an Thankful Card for The Paper Players Challenge this morning.

This week I am grateful that our heat pump has finally been delivered and will hopefully be connected and operating this week.  Due to a long, complicated series of events (specialty order required, wrong unit ordered, hurricane hitting manufacturing plant, etc.), we haven't had working heat or air conditioning since June, so we are thrilled that we're close to controlling the temperature in our home again.  I am also grateful for how mild our Autumn has been so far, so it hasn't been much of an issue for the last month.

I also took my inspiration from this week's Curtain Call Inspiration Challenge with a theme of Felt.

I found some pretty felt leaves in my stash that were so old the adhesive had dried (Glue Dots to the rescue).

When I saw the off-set layers in this week's Freshly Made Sketch, I knew I wanted to do the off-set die cut technique I learned from Sankari at Stamp Joy ... it is so easy, and adds mailable elegance and the appearance of dimension.  I used Taylored Expressions Retro Cutting Plate for my background.

I layered paper flowers and also fished out some vintage buttons from my stash inspired by the Curtain Call Photo.  Somehow the only Taylored Expression Thank You stamp I have is Graphic Greetings Thankful, so I trimmed one of the sentiments from that collage to complete my design.

I'm also joining the Crafty Calendar Challenge which is Autumn Colors.

Thankful

While I had my autumn papers and my glitter leaves on my studio table, I decided to make another card.  This one is for the Autumn Colors Challenge at AAA Cards.

My inspiration came from Lisa Arana's design at the Tag You're It! Challenge.

I love the greys with the brighter autumn hues ... as well as the paper tab at the top of her taga nd the angle cut sentiment.

More glitter leaves and another SRM Sticker Sentiment ... love that beautiful grey-brown background paper from Echo Park Reflections Fall.

 

Thank You Dinner with Tom

This cute little colored Dinner with Tom image was included in one of my latest purchases from Ellen Hutson (she always includes a personally colored thank you ... as well as some coordinating ribbon).   I thought this dapper dude needed his own card.

Think Beef

Love these fun new stamp sets by Teri Anderson for Technique Tuesday.

I used this week's Sweet Stop Sketch together with Basic Grey Picadilly papers, which is perfect for Shopping Our Stash whose challenge this week is Fur or Feathers.  The Sticker Sentiment is from SRM Stickers.  I'm also joining the Harvest Time fun at the Basic Grey Challenge Blog.

I wanted to play along with the Color Challenge at EAD Designs this month (if you play, they will send you a 25% off coupon & you have the chance to win $20 credit to the EAD store).

The blog features the Be Thankful Stickerz ... but I don't have that collection in my stash, so I went with Fall Harvest Stickerz combined with Wee Bundle paper from Sassafras to get as close as possible to the

Thanks Giving

Tonight when I was searching through my drawers of paper hoping for inspiration, I found these Cosmo Cricket Journaling cards which were perfect for a couple of quick Thanks Giving cards using this weeks Sketch from 2 Sketches 4 You.

For the first one I stamped Inkadinkado's Foliage Trails on the background and added a few punched Maple Leaves to embellish.

For the second one I used a ticket corner punch and stamped Hero Arts Fabulous Flourish on the background.

It's always good to remind myself how very much I have to be thankful for.
