Gina K. Designs' August #monthlymixchallenge is indeed a challenge for me ... to use Gel Pen Accents. That is a skill I just don't have, but that didn't stop me from giving it a try.
First I stamped & colored the Gina K. Designs Happy Hydrangea Mini using Spectrum Noir Tri Blend Markers.
Once it dried for a bit, I came back in with a white gel pen and added some accents. I don't love it, but I don't hate it, so that's progress for me (and I actually do like the leaves).
When I visited my friend Barb, I borrowed her Beached Dee Stamp. and then I had fun coloring her with Spectrum Noir Tri Blend Markers.
I used the layout from Try a Sketch on Tuesday.
I also took my Inspiration from The Paper Players Beach Time Challenge.
We're still Dashing Through the Snow at Jingle Belles along with our Friends at the Double Trouble Challenge who are creating with Windows.
To create my Window, I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Sentiment Banners to cut out my sentiment and attached it to the inside of the card, and then used the same die cut on the front of my card, so it could peek on through.
I colored my Woodware Snow Jar with Spectrum Noir Tri-Blend Markers while I was visiting my friend Beverly who loaned me the stamps (thanks so much). Sentiment is from the same set.
We have a fun prize for one lucky participant (and Double Trouble has a prize too if you want to join all of the fun).
Our theme at Jingle Belles this week is - Not a Creature was Stirring. We're making cards featuring animals or other creatures like gnomes, monsters or Yetis.
I chose the Christmas Cheer Gnomes from Rubbernecker Stamps (which I colored in the Blue/Coral color combination for Color Hues Challenge before I realized that challenge closed before this card posted).
I added the perfect sentiment from Impress Rubber Stamps Holiday Words.

The current challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers is R is for Retro.
The first thing I thought of was Mid-Century Modern, so I went to Uniko where Beverly is the queen of Mid-Century Modern Design. I stamped Uniko's Background Basics Mid-Century Modern twice overlapping slightly. I die cut the panel using Dare 2B Artzy's Slimline Framelet Die.
AALL & Create's Miss Dee's ombre style was colored with Spectrum Noir Triblend markers before becoming the star of the show. I finished with a snarky sticker sentiment.
It's also Anything Goes at 613 Avenue Create.
The Penny Black Saturday Challenge theme is to use lots of layers. This week's Paper Craft Crew Sketch was perfect for that.
I used my last Spectrum Noir Triblend colored bouquet from Penny Black Charisma Bouquet as the focal image and built my color palette around it using a piece of Authentique Sea Maiden Designer Paper as my base.
I layered on coordinating papers and then added some white flowers as accents.
I used a trimmed sentiment from Penny Black Life is Simpler.
The newest challenge at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers is M is for Music.
I wanted to use one of the AALL & Create Miss Dees that I colored when I was at Beverly's home. I printed out the lyrics that I thought highlighted her well (at least they made me laugh).
I had fun coloring in her shades of slate blue with Bev's Spectrum Noir Triblend markers (which makes me want to fill out my own marker set) and use the card layout from Sketch~N~Scrap to attach all of the pieces.
I finished with a few black sequins as embellishments.
Since I had the other half of my watercolor powder background still on my studio table, I decided to make another card featuring a Penny Black Charisma Bouquet.
This time I paired it with a gelli-printed background I made using tiny bubble wrap (I liked the repeat of the circle theme from my water colored background) and a sticker sentiment from my stash.

When I visited my friend Beverly, she showed me how to use her ScanNCut (since I have one still in the box that I need to find a stand for). We used it to cut out the beautiful bouquets from Penny Black Charisma stamp set. Then we had fun coloring while we watched a movie made from one of our favorite books The Glass Castle (enjoyable for sure, but as almost always, not as good as the book). I gave the Spectrum Noir Tri-Blend Markers a try.
I used one of the bouquets for the Penny Black Saturday Anything Goes Challenge pairing it with a sentiment from Penny Black Words of Encouragement.
I used one of the backgrounds that Bev & I made with powdered watercolors to back my image using a sketch from CAS Colours & Sketch Challenges. I added a bit more color at the bottom to help ground the vase. I tried a white card base, but preferred the peach to pull out that color from both the background & the colored bloom.

The January Unity Stamp Company Challenge is all about Cozy Winter Colors.
When I saw the gold & the pink, I thought one of my new Winnie the Pooh stamps would be perfect. I chose Unity Stamp Company Winnie the Pooh How do you spell love?, which I stamped & colored with my Spectrum Noir markers.
I used this week's Vertical Sketch from the Paper Craft Crew for my layout.
The card felt a bit flat with all of the solid cardstock, so I embossed the light grey card base with Gina K. Designs Tapestry Embossing Folder for some texture.
