I'm LEAF-ing it Up to You

At Shopping Our Stash, the newest prompt - I'm LEAF-ing it Up to You - is all about creating with LEAVES.

 

 

I started by foiling the Gina K. Designs Thankful Leaves with Therm-o-Web Peach Princess Foil and cutting them with the coordinating Dies.  Next, I used the same Peach Princess Foil with a Black Toner Card Front to create my foil-covered metallic cardstock.  I'm also joining the Gina K. Designs Monthly Mix Challenge to make your own metallic cardstock.

 

 

I attached the leaves (using foam tape for some to add dimension) and finished with a sentiment from Gina K. Designs Spring Tulips.

I used another Black Toner Card Front together with the negative of the leaves and die cut them with the coordinating dies for another Gina K. Designs #monthlymixchallenge card.

 

 

I mounted them on cardstock de-bossed with the Gina K. Designs Lattice Embossing Folder and finished with some gems and a different sentiment from Gina K. Designs Spring Tulips.

Doodle-Pop Sticker Obsession

The newest challenge at Shopping Our Stash is a fun one ... I Don't Really Need Another One ... we're asking for confessions ... confessions about that your creative weakness.

 

 

Do you tend to by every butterfly or owl stamp you can or maybe all the paper pads from a particular line?  Or how about another roll of washi tape to go with the HUNDREDS you already have?

 

Whatever your weakness is, use it on your creation and tell us what it is! (make sure you give your confession together with uploading your card).

 

When I was recently at my local Scrapbooking Store Scrapmania.  I picked-up three more Doodlebug Designs Doodle-Pop 3D Stickers despite having a rather large collection already at home in my stash (yes, there are even a few duplicates).

 

 

So of course I had to use the one that is front and center - Doodle-Pops Christmas Cocoa - for the current Caffeinated Christmas Challenge to include Candy and/or Cookies (of course my cute little Santa Mug has both).

 

 

I added more cookies to the mix with the Doodlebug Designs Gingerbread Kisses Cookie paper as the card base and finished with a tiny typed Christmas sentiment.

 

 

 

 

Can't wait to here your crafty confession (and see the cards it inspires).

 

Just Because

Did you know that August 27th is *National Just Because Day* ... and to celebrate, at Shopping Our Stash we're asking you to make Just Because cards ... you know, those ones you send Just Because you're thinking of someone (in my opinion, the best cards to receive).

For my card, I had fun revisiting an Alcohol Ink technique.  I stamped the Paper Smooches Box of Flowers on Vellem and embossed with white embossing powder.  Next I turned the vellum over and used three different hues of red and pink alcohol ink on the back of the vellum.  Once it dried, I die cut my image and piece of white cardstock using a stitched square die cut, and then attached the two layers

 

 

I attached the square panel to a kraft card base and finished with a tiny Woodblock Just Because Sentiment attached with foam tape for a bit of dimension.

Shopping our Stash for Colors

The newest challenge at Shopping Our Stash is a Color Challenge.

 

 

I started with a kraft card base and added several leaf groupings and a butterfly from Blossom Acetate Leaves from 49 and Market.

 

 

I finished with an Impress Every Day Words Sentiment stamped in the darker shade of rose/red.

Up, Up & Away

The newest Challenge at Shopping Our Stash is Up, Up and Away - creating cards that feature balloons of any kind.

 

 

I built my card around the aptly named Up, Up and Away Doodle-Pop Balloon Sticker.

 

 

I used the current Sketch from Sketch Saturday together with sequins and a sentiment from a P13 Sunshine Stickers.

 

Sounds of Summer

The newest Challenge at Shopping Our Stash is Summer.  

 

I decided to use products from Simple Stories Trail Mix Collection.  This truck and camper reminded me of the one we had when I was a little kid.  On the winding drive to the lake and Big M Boat Dock, we would ride in the camper on the mattress over the truck cab and look out the front window.  I loved when I finally graduated from wearing a life jacket to a ski belt to float in the water.

 

I grounded the truck with a sticker sentiment from P13 Sunshine Stickers.

We hope you'll shop your stash to whatever reminds you of summer (gardening, camping, swimming, the beach ... you name it).

NBUS Football Birthday

The newest Challenge at Shopping Our Stash is NBUS (Never Before Used Stuff) from your stash that is at least one year old.

 

 

Ardyth is also leading us on a #shopyourcraftstashsummer2024 to give those unused items we have some love, so I'm joining there too.  I am envious of Ardyth who knows exactly how many items she needs to use.  I'm afraid to even think about counting how many unused items I have.

Darnell also has a monthly NBUS Challenge, so I'm linking-up there as well.

I decided to shop my Darkroom Door Stash of unused stamps for today's card.  Since Rachel died, it has made me sad to think about using these stamps, but I decided she would want to see her lovely designs out in the world, so that's what I did.

This Darkroom Door Football stamp is from at least as far back as March 2021 and the backing had never been removed.  I inked it with black ink and stamped it twice on white cardstock (the second one was to cut out the football after I finished my ink blending).

 

 

I used a combination of multiple blue distress inks on the sky and greens for the grass to add color, and colored pencil to add the red to the shoe (or boot as it is called).  I cut the football from the second stamped image and used a stylus to give the ball some dimension before attaching it with foam tape in the center and adhesive on the edges to keep the roundness of the ball when it was attached.

I used A Colorful Life Designs Cloud Edger and white pigment ink in the sky to add a bit of cloud dimension.  I also added some black sequins to finish the design together with an NBUS sentiment from a Simon Hurley set from the Crop & Create event in 2022.

Button, Button, Who's Got the Button

The newest challenge at Shopping our Stash is Button, Button, Who's Got the Button - creating a card with at least one button.

 

 

I die cut a rectangle of cardstock, and then covered it with white buttons attached with glue dots.  I added a Spellbinders butterfly sticker on top of the buttons.

 

I used a piece of designer paper from Dovecraft Bohemian collection for the card base and finished with an Impress birthday sentiment.

Hoptimist

The new Shopping Our Stash Challenge is an awesome Sketch.

I needed a beer-themed Thank You card, so I pulled out multiple beer colored GelliArts prints to create the sketch layers.

 

 

I die cut the Creative Expressions Three Cheers beer mug from white cardstock and a second time from a Gelliarts print to trim down for the beer.  I used a light grey marker on the mug for contrast with the white foam.   I paired it with a sentiment from Creative Expressions Beer Happy Set.

I finished with some golden orange gems.

How Does Your Garden Grow?

The newest Challenge at Shopping Our Stash is - How Does Your Garden Grow?  We're asking you to shop your stash and create a card featuring something that grows in a garden or make a card with a gardening theme.  This time of year, I always think about my Grandma and her rainbow garden that bloomed all summer long, so I chose to make a card with flowers.

I decided to use the Letterpress Technique for my card for the Gina K. Designs Monthly Mix Challenge. 

I applied four colors of Gina K's brown ink (Kraft, Warm Cocoa, Sandy Beach & Dark Chocolate) to the Gina K. Designs Tapestry Embossing Folder that is filled with garden leaves & blooms before embossing a piece of white cardstock.

 

 

Next I die cut the blooms & bow from the Gina K. Designs Playful Posies and added a Thank You sentiment from Gina K. Designs Bold Bloom Mini, stamps in Warm Cocoa Ink.  I finished with a few light brown pearls in the middle of the Posies.

While I was at it, I went ahead and made a second version of the design.  This time I omitted the more orangey Warm Cocoa ink and used Ivory cardstock.
