Winter Birthday

The December Penny Black Saturday Challenge is Winter Wonderland.  I'm actually ready for a bit of snow ... I just love the peacefulness of everything covered in white.  I just seems weird to have rain in December.

I went through my Penny Black Masterpieces Made Simple Across the Miles and chose this peaceful winter scene.

 

 

I framed it in blue and paired it with several designer paper scraps that both have an outdoors feel.  I finished with a Happy Birthday sentiment from Penny Black Birthday Bundles.

Make My Monday is asking us to choose one of their challenges from 2024 - I'm going with Happy Birthday from last January.

Sometimes There Are No Words

One of my co-workers died last week.  I was talking to him at 5:30 pm telling him, let's just go home and we'll figure it out in the morning.  And then the next morning, he was gone.  It was so surreal and a strong reminder that we don't always get a tomorrow.

Sometimes there really are no words.

 

This card is for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge which is Anything Goes with an Option to Make a Scene.  My scene is one of the cards from the Penny Black Across the Miles Christmastime Collection, although with no obvious Christmas elements in the scene, I thought it worked for a sympathy card. 

The sentiment is a stamp from Penny Black Deepest Sympathy.

CASE-ing at Jingle Belles

The theme at Jingle Belles this week is Loves Labor Day Lost.  Since September 2nd will be Labor Day in the United States, we've decided to celebrate by giving you a bit of a head start with this week's card design.  

We're asking that you CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit) any of the cards that Lauren or I have made for any of the previous Jingle Belles prompts (yep, you've got 13 1/2 years of cards to choose from).  Make sure you link to the card that inspired you and share your selective edits.

For my inspiration, I chose this Masculine Card Lauren made in May 2022.

 

 

I used a different Penny Black Across the Miles Masterpieces Made Simple (mine is horizontal vs. vertical) and added different Eyelet Outlet Brads (a cardinal in the tree branch and a poinsettia by the sentiment for a bit more red in the design). 

 

 

 

 

I also chose to use a different color to frame my sentiment than the frame for my Masterpiece, and added a strip of white glitter paper for a vertical element.

 

And with the Poinsettia in my design, I'm also joining the Penny Black Saturday Challenge with its Anything Goes Theme with an Option of Flowers.

 

 

We can't wait to see which of our cards inspire your design.

 

Fast Food Birthday

The newest Penny Black Saturday Challenge is Food.

I don't have any Penny Black food stamps, so instead I used the Penny Black Geometric Embossing Folder together with the Penny Black Happy Builder sentiment with some 3-D Food Stickers from my stash.

 

 

I finished with some matte gold embellishments.

Penny Black Spring Flowers Birthday

My card today is for the Anything Goes theme at the Penny Black Saturday Challenge.

I'm also linking-up at The Paper Players Clean and Simple Spring Flowers Challenge.

 

 

I used the Penny Black Vintage Beauty card topper that I embossed with the Penny Black Stitches of Love Frame Die Cut.

 

 

I added a sentiment form Penny Black Happy Builder and a few navy gems.  I finished with a couple of strips cut from my Gelliarts Prints.

 

 

I'm also joining Seize the Birthday for their Any Color and Green Color Challenge.

Floral Thank You

My thank you card stash is completely depleted, so I'm working to restock.

I started with inspiration from The Color Hue Challenge - Cream & Blue.

 

 

I chose a Penny Black Sticker from Romance of Flowers.  I paired it with a Sketch from Global Design Project.

 

 

My clean & simple design also works for the Addicted to CAS Bloom Challenge.

 

She Believed She Could

The February Saturday Penny Black Saturday Challenge is Anything Goes with an Optional theme of Wings.

I chose the Floral and Butterfly images from Penny Black April in Paris Stickeroos supplemented by a single butterfly from Penny Black Dreamscape Stickeroos attached to a bright pink Gelli Press print before I die cut using Penny Black Stitches of Love Frame.

 

I attached the die cut panel to a kraft card base before stamping a two-part sentiment from Penny Black She Builder.

You Are My Happy Place

The January Penny Black Saturday Challenge is Anything Goes with an optional theme of something new.

 

I used one of my Penny Black Adorable Amore Masterpieces Made Simple with the vertical layout from Paper Craft Crew, which produced an extra skinny & tall card design.

 

 

The sentiment is from a new Penny Black stamp set Happy Builder stamp set.  I'm also linking-up at Cardz 4 Guyz where the theme is to use something new from your stash. 

 

 

I'm also joining Little Red Wagon Challenge where the theme is Still Snowing - Show Me Some Snow (which describes the scene outside my window).  And lastly, it's Cute Critters at the Simon Says Challenge.

Christmas Ornaments

The December Penny Black Saturday Challenge is Anything Goes with an optional theme of Christmas.

 

 

I die cut one of the Penny Black Masterpieces Christmas Reflections images with the Penny Black Stitches of Love Frame Die Cuts.  I got it slightly crooked, so I trimmed the edges to straighten the stitching & die cut a second rectangle to frame the image.

 

 

I die cut Penny Black Merry Christmas from Silver metallic cardstock & added two 1/2" strips on the left side using the Sketch from Try Stampin' on Tuesday, finishing with some blue bling.

 

 

I'm also joining Inpsire.Create.Challenge for their Christmas theme.

 

Charisma Birthday

The Penny Black Saturday Challenge theme is to use lots of layers.  This week's Paper Craft Crew Sketch was perfect for that.

 

 

I used my last Spectrum Noir Triblend colored bouquet from Penny Black Charisma Bouquet as the focal image and built my color palette around it using a piece of Authentique Sea Maiden Designer Paper as my base.

 

 

I layered on coordinating papers and then added some white flowers as accents.

 

 

I used a trimmed sentiment from Penny Black Life is Simpler.
