This card is for the February Lunar New Year Challenge.
I stamped the Snake and Head Dress from Mama Elephant Zodiac Snake on white cardstock, cut them with the coordinating die cuts, and colored using my Graph'IT Alcohol Ink Markers.
I assembled my card using this week's Atlantic Hearts Sketch and a wrap of twine together with a sentiment from Mama Elephant New Beginnings.
The animal for the 2025 Lunar New Year is the Snake. I went searching for snake stamps so I could join the Lunar New Year Challenge, and to no one's surprise, there aren't a lot.
However, I found this adorable Sassy Snake Stamp Set at Whimsy Stamps, which took me down the Whimsy Stamps rabbit hole (yep, I bought more than just snakes, once again to no one's surprise).
I went with a fun color combination of teal and lime green using one sentiment from the Sassy Snakes Set and the Happy New Year from Whimsy Stamps Simple Sentiment Strips.
I tucked the snake into a die cut frame and finished with some lime sequins.
The theme for the Lunar New Year Challenge for 2025 is the Year of the Snake.
I went in search of some snake stamp sets, and not surprisingly, there were only a few I could locate, including this adorable Party Snake (that comes with coordinating die cuts) from Trinity Stamps. I stamped him in black and chose red & yellow for the balloon colors, since those are traditional Lunar New Year colors.
I used red & yellow designer papers together with the Sketch from Atlantic Hearts Sketches. I swapped the circle for a stitched oval die cut, since that shape worked better with my stamped image. I finished with some enamel dot embellishments and a sentiment from Mama Elephant New Beginnings.
