Feathers

There are several Feather Challenges this week, which was the perfect opportunity to use this trio of Stampabilities Woodblock Designer Feathers in my collection that have never seen ink. 

It's always a good exercise to remember how we all stamped before the MISTI (I still stamped onto my mousepad, which as just the right amount of give and the grid helped me as I lined-up the wood blocks).

 

 

 

I chose the colors from the current Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge for my Feather Trio.

 

I used a sentiment from Simon Says Stamp Beautiful as You (a STAMPtember set with Neat & Tangled).

 

Just us Girls is all about Feathers.

Look What Santa Brought Me Last Christmas

I realized as I was looking through my yet-to-be-used new stash for this week's Look What Santa Brought Me Prompt at Jingle Belles, that I had yet to ink one of my Christmas gifts that I got from Santa last Christmas (I know ... embarrassing), so that is the set I used for this card -- Neat & Tangled Scandinavian Prints Christmas Die Cuts for the adhesive glittery felt trees and for the sentiment too. 

I filled the sky with snowflakes from Essentials by Ellen Bear Ware 2.

Vintage Rainbow

The theme at the current Neat & Tangled Little Tangles Challenge is Rainbow, which is perfect for a rainy weekend.

I decided my rainbow would be this awesome vintage ViewMaster Designer paper (I loved my ViewMaster ... wish I still had it).  I kept my image & sentiment from For the Record in Neutral tones with a pop of Red.

I love how the vintage ViewMaster is in keeping with my vintage theme.

More Cowbell

When I saw this new Cowbell stamp set from Neat & Tangled ... I actually added it to my cart & purchased it immediately.

That Saturday Night Live Skit still makes me laugh after all of these years.  I stamped the Cowbell on Dark Grey and used a metallic silver pen for the rivets.

You're a Classic

Since my Neat & Tangled Stamps were still on my studio table from last night's creation, I decided to ink them up again for the Little Tangles Challenge.

The inspiration photo comes from Pinterest.

Since I had no umbrellas, I replaced the round umbrella with a round album from Neat & Tangled For the Record.  I stamped it in the peachy coral color of the umbrellas.

I decided to Mix-It-Up again by combining an Essentials by Ellen sentiment from Totally Awesome with the Classic Sentiment from Neat & Tangled For the Record ... I stamped them in blue & green inks to pull in those colors from the Inspiration Photo.

I used some rainbow ombre designer paper to pull in more of the blue and green and added a grey strip of textured cardstock to represent the stone ledge on the swimming pool.  The layout is this week's PDE Sketch.

I finished with sequins that pull in the reflective quality of the water.  Love that I have another masculine birthday card for my stash.

You're My Person

One of my favorite artists ... Donna Mikasa ... is being featured at the Tag You're It Challenge.  Look at this beauty ...

My tag is pretty much a series of happy accidents.  I tried to create the watercolored background using Color Burst, but wasn't really happy with either tag I made.  Then I found the Neat & Tangled Punchinella Die Cut in my stash and tried cutting one of the tags.  Because the paper was still a little wet, only part of the sequins came out easily ... and I loved the look.

This week's Mix-It-Up Challenge at Ellen Hutson is with Neat & Tangled, so that inspired the remainder of my tag design.

The sentiment is a combination of Just Hello from Neat & Tangled together with a sentiment from Essentials by Ellen Mondo Magnolia.  I stamped and die cut my Mondo Magnolia twice and die cut it from two colors to create my bloom.  I used Essentials by Ellen Bold Blossom Stand Alone Dies on my second discarded Color Burst Background for the leaves.  A little striped washi tape, some black pearls, and yellow silk ribbon bow, and this beauty was complete ... I love it.

You Are A Classic

The theme at the Little Tangles Challenge is Birthday.

I featured a classic color palette of red, white, blue & silver.

Having grown-up in the world of LPs, I love these vintage images for birthdays.  The layout is this week's Retro Sketch.

You Rock

When I saw my friend Leslie (aka The Crooked Stamper) was the designer at The Little Tangles Challenge, I had to join the fun.  Here's her sketch (you can link-up at her Challenge too).

I started with the vertical sentiment from Across the Card and then added two diamonds from Sparkle & Shine.

I used the colors from Colour Me Challenge and added some silver glitter pen to my diamonds for some sparkle.

Rockin' Stars & Stripes

I love the For the Record stamp set from Neat & Tangled.  I used it with the Fab Friday Sketch (which I rotated to work with my image).

I picked-up a fun Star Washi Tape this week and combined it with Memory Box Cosmic Star Set Die Cuts.

The Story of Music

The theme at CASology this week is ... Story.

The story of my childhood was music ... there were always albums playing every day.  I remember reading the liner notes, memorizing the lyrics, singing and dancing along ... I can't imaging growing-up without a soundtrack.  This card tells that story.

As soon as I saw the Neat & Tangled's new set For the Record, I purchased it immediately.  For this card I left it clean & simple with black lines and a sentiment stamped in the lid.  I used a variety of circle punches to create an Album and a couple of 45's using this week's Freshly Made Sketch.

 

To add a bit of texture, I used the Cuttlebug Allegro music note embossing folder on the background.
