I had fun spending Saturday creating with the Hero Arts Summer Stamp-Along.
The first card was with Laura Bassen. I loved the fun strips of color. The class kit contained the entire rainbow of cardstock. The card she made used the blush cardstock as the base. I changed it up with green, so I could use it for a masculine birthday.
I couldn't throw away the ends I trimmed off, so I made them into a second card.
Second class was a double-layered stamping technique taught by Channin Pelletier. She gave some tips on partial stamping with a background stamp that I'll be using again I'm sure.
The teacher of the third class was Cathy Zielske. I love the fun group of balloons die cut.
I used a bit of the leftover ink-painted panel to make a second card (inspired by Cathy's bonus card).
Kristina Werner taught a fun layered inking technique for class number four.
It was a 6" background stamp, so I used the cut-off strip from the background and made a second card.
Seeka taught class number five with a much cuter card than what I made using Hero Arts Rub-ons. When I tried to attach the final rub-on of the design, I managed to get it stuck to my finger, and couldn't figure out how to rescue the design. I tried using similar images for a second attempt, and I managed to make the same mistake - clearly all operator error and no reflection on the class or the product.
I finally got one to work with what was left of the first rub-on sheet, and I do love it ... another masculine card in the stash.
If you've ever thought about joining the Hero Arts events, I feel like they are very well done, and I enjoyed it a lot.
