Final Gingersnap Creations Challenge

I was so sad when I realized this will be the final Gingersnap Creations Challenge.  Getting to be a part of this amazing Design Team has blessed me beyond measure.  I have been challenged to create some of my best projects ... and for that ... and the friendships I have developed ... I am forever grateful.

I hope you'll continue to follow the oh-so-talented Ali (Vintage Page Designs) & Shar (Unruly PaperArts) on their new endeavors.

And rightfully so ... our final challenge is the same as the very first ... a Color Challenge Celebrating Copper, Rust & Ginger.  

My card features a map from Retro Art Cafe's Salvaged Maps Collage Sheet.  Even though these images are sized on the page to be an ATC, the quality is so superior that I easily enlarged it to standard greeting card size with no loss of clarity (love that) ... and yes Lauren, the New Jersey is for you.  

The fabulous bird is from the Microslides Collage Sheet by Debrina Pratt ... I love how it fit perfectly over the compass arrow in the map.

I added sentiments from Artistic Outpost's Songbirds, a punched heart, and lots of Distress Ink sponging.

Vintage Garden

We're celebrating border punches at the Gingersnap Creations Spicy Supply Challenge.  

Our wonderful sponsor this month is Retro Cafe Art Gallery, and they provided the Design Team with fabulous vintage images.  For my creation, I used Vintage Garden Images and ATC Size Collage Sheet from Retro Cafe Art Gallery

The quality of their images was amazing ... I adore the rich vibrant colors.  I added a border punched frame & punched flowers to complete my card.

Faux Leather Missing You

The Random Redhead Challenge at Gingersnap Creations is to create a project using a faux technique.  Since I had so much fun with masking tape last week, I decided to use it again to create a faux leather background.

I sponged ink onto green Tim Holtz DP and then die cut my leather label to form the background for my lonely little cat.  

Our Challenge is again sponsored by Rogue Redhead Design ... I used the cat from Just Sayin' and the sentiment from Relish Reading.  For the circle backing my sentiment, I added a second layer of ink and embossing powder to create a darker leather finish.

 

Masking Tape Mardi Gras

This month's Spicy Supply Challenge at Gingersnap Creations is to use Masking Tape ... and our sponsor is Rogue Redhead Designs.  I used their new set Mardi Gras for my card.

I adhered long strips of masking tape to my craft sheet & then stamped beads with India ink.  I then carefully adhered the tape to my Basic Grey Sweet Threads paper, so I could dry the ink with a heat gun.

I stamped my crown twice on two pieces of DP and then paper pieced the orange pieces on top. I used an orange glittery pen to add more color and sparkle to the design.

There are lots of possibilities for Masking Tape design ... can't wait to see what you try.

To Observe, To Learn, To Grow and To Love

At Gingersnap Creations today we're celebrating our favorite papers ... and we're once again sponsored by the generous and oh-so-talented souls of Stampotque Originals (I do love their designs).

My card features one of my favorite paper collections ... Authentique's Blissful Collection.  My stamps are the wonderful group of watches called Timeless by Amy Wilson Wellenstein ... and a stamp called Aborigine featuring this insightful quote.

I stamped Timeless on two different pieces of Authentique designer paper and then cut my yellow image into strips.  I lined up several strips for my own version of paper piecing.  I also cut two circles and pieced them behind my sentiment to create contrast with the background.

Art is the Energy of the Soul

We're celebrating Organizating at Gingersnap Creations this month ... and we have one of my favorite stamp companies as a sponsor ... Stampotique Originals.

Today's Spicy Supply Challenge is to use Ribbon ... it can be new ribbon, old ribbon, ribbon scraps ... whatever inspires you.

The stamps I received from Stampotique for my card designs were Folded Tags and Art is the Energy.

I stamped my musical tags on designer paper and instead of folding them, I cut them apart for individual embellishment.  I wrapped each with a knot of sheer red ribbon, and added a pearl flourish to my houdstooth background.  I finished with my sentiment cut into two pieces & mounted on top of the tags.

So break out your ribbon collection (we know you have one) and show us what you can create.

Sunny Days Ahead

Since we're celebrating Holiday Lights at Gingersnap Creations this month ... it seems only fitting that the Color Challenge is Pale Yellow and White.  

I decided to use EAD Designs Vintage Furniture Stickerz to stay with the *light* theme for my card with a chandellier and candle sticks.

My pale yellow paper is from Echo Park's Springtime Collection.  I added an EAD Stickerz sentiment, pearls & a flower to complete this cheery design ... the Stickerz make a card come together so quickly.

Caution ... Little Boys at Play

This month at Gingersnap Creations we're celebrating Holiday Lights including candles & lumieries ... and our Spicy Supply Challenge is Wax.  My card features a Wax Paper Cuttlebug Resist technique.

I used the Tim Holtz Alterations Gear embossing folder on waxed paper for my background.  I sponged on several shades of brown Distress and Chalk ink to bring out the resist.

I love that it looks abstract, but if you really focus in you can see the gears ... very fun technique & great use for scraps of glossy cardstock ... so many possibilities.

I added some fun Boy Vinyl Rub-ons from EAD Designs to complete the design.

Snowman Thanks

Since there are five Wednesdays in November, it's time for a Blue Moon Challenge at Gingersnap creations ... Thank You Cards. 

Lauren suggested I check out the amazing digital creations of Anna Aspnes.  I thought these wonderful snowman gift tags would make fun card elements.  I deleted the *to* and *from* from the tags and sized them to about 1 1/4" for my card.  Memory Box paper was stamped with three different Hero Arts snowflakes (Get Merry & Holiday Cheer) in Azurite ink.

The sketch is this week's Twisted Sketches with a *twist* of glitter.  I punched a white snowflake and added lots of stickles glitter for sparkle.  I finished with a EAD Rub-on sentiment.

Grow With Love

In this fabulous month of harvest, the theme at Gingersnap Creations is On the Farm.  For this month's Spicy Supply Challenge we're getting Rustic with Raffia.

Artistic Outpost's Country Life has the perfect images for the theme.  Paper is Bo Bunny's Et Cetera collection, and I used this week's CardPattern's Sketch for my design.
