When I saw the Pop Art Stamp set Bloom Box at Lorena's blog from Fun Stampers Journey, I knew I had to make it mine. It reminds me of the fun pop art of Roy Lichtenstein, one of my favorite pop art artists. It comes in a Bloom Box Kit with pre-cut pieces and instructions ... but as with many things in my life, I read the instructions ... and then did my own thing.
I started with the male stamp in vibrant blue. I used my stamping grid made cut from Non-Slip Vinyl Template Sheets that are made for quilting. I cut this one grid 5" x 7" since that is a fairly common card size for me. As you can see, it then works for smaller sizes like this card when I'm using my MISTI Creative Corners.
I positioned my paper in my MISTI using a creative corner & my new Bar Magnet (love these ... a must have) and then placed the grid over my paper. That allowed me to position my stamp & see if it stamped where I wanted by stamping on the grid.
Once I have it perfect, I remove the grid and stamp onto the paper ... and ... TADA.
Here's the finished card (pictures taken in my light box are much more true to color than the ones I snap with my phone at my studio table).
For the next card, I used both cartoon stamps in black (note to self ... try stamping these on newsprint for a real old-time feel).
I love how I can go ahead and assemble my card & then stamp ... something I never would have done before my MISTI.
There was a little piece of silver glitter paper in the kit, but I wanted a bit more, so I paired it with some Silver Glitter Washi Tape from Eyelet Outlet. The kit also included that fun eyeglass paper clip that fit perfectly over his eyes, as well as the tiny paper clip that I included in her block.
Can't wait to figure out what other sentiment stamps I have in my stash I can pair with these fun Pop Art Cartoons.
