Snow Loved

The November Memory Box Challenge is Food and Drink. 

 

 

I had fun giving the Memory Box Layered Polar Bear his own Iced Coffee with an Eyelet Outlet Iced Coffee Brad. 

I also added the scarf from the Memory Box Tall Bundled Snowman Die cut from a plaid designer paper (with inking on the bottom layers) to keep him warm in the swirling snow from the Simon Says Stamp Swirling Snowflakes Embossing Folder that was sprayed with Therm-o-web Silver Glitter Dust Spray.

 

 

I finished with a sentiment from PaperTrey Ink Just Sentiments - Snow.

 

 

My scarved polar bear in the snow with his coffee beverage also took it's inspiration from the Just Us Girls Mood Board.  I'm also linking-up at the Food or Drink Challenge at Make My Monday Challenge.

Coffee & a Snowman

Christmas Feast is the newest Jingle Belles prompt.  We're celebrating one of our very favorite aspects of the holidays: The Christmas Feast! There are lots of iconic holiday foods, from cookies and candies to gingerbread in all its forms; sugar plums, Christmas pudding, Buche de Noel, even the Grinch carving the Roast Beast!

I went with a classic holiday combination ... peppermint candy cane & hot cocoa (both brought to you by Eyelet Outlet).

 

 

I used my Lisa Horton Crafts Layering Snowman Stencils & Die Cut with reds & greens for the Caffeinated Christmas Challenge with brads from Eyelet Outlet (Candy Cane & Holiday Coffee Cup).   I die cut with the coordinating die and layered it on top of a snowflake embossed panel.

I finished with an Eyelet Outlet Cardinal brad perched in the pine tree.

 

Art Camp 2024 Creativity

After Lauren and I spent time in NYC, we go back to Lauren's home for what we have affectionately named Art Camp.  There was even a sign to welcome me.

 

 

One of the things we did together this year was play with Ranger Archival Inks and Alcohol.  I tried lots of different embossing on watercolor paper.  I achieved lots of cool effects.  I also water colored some ATC-sized pieces of watercolor paper and played with dry wall tape (you can see my ATCs here)

 

 

We also challenged ourselves to use some Tim Holtz Paper Dolls, so I incorporated one into my card that I made using one of the watercolor panels and one of the embossed panels using a vintage Tim Holtz Texture Fades Collage Embossing Folder.  I added some watercolor to the edges of the embossed panel to tie it to my painted ATC card.

 

 

I also added some retired Eyelet Outlet washi tape, some cool Pewter Liquid Pearls Embellishments that Lauren Made, and a Dina Wakley Typed Ledger Sentiment.  How fun is it to shop your friend's stash to make your card.

 

#squadghouls birthday

 This months AAA Birthday Challenge is all about backgrounds.  I made this background this weekend with my GelliArts Press and some stencils.

 

 

I thought it paired perfectly with this Echo Park Spooktacular Journaling Card (that I turned into a tag and added an Impress Birthday Sentiment) for the Aud Sentiments Challenge Blog.

 

 

I finished by attaching my two tags together with an Eyelet Outlet Bat Brad before attaching them to my rockin' background using foam tape.

CASE-ing at Jingle Belles

The theme at Jingle Belles this week is Loves Labor Day Lost.  Since September 2nd will be Labor Day in the United States, we've decided to celebrate by giving you a bit of a head start with this week's card design.  

We're asking that you CASE (Copy and Selectively Edit) any of the cards that Lauren or I have made for any of the previous Jingle Belles prompts (yep, you've got 13 1/2 years of cards to choose from).  Make sure you link to the card that inspired you and share your selective edits.

For my inspiration, I chose this Masculine Card Lauren made in May 2022.

 

 

I used a different Penny Black Across the Miles Masterpieces Made Simple (mine is horizontal vs. vertical) and added different Eyelet Outlet Brads (a cardinal in the tree branch and a poinsettia by the sentiment for a bit more red in the design). 

 

 

 

 

I also chose to use a different color to frame my sentiment than the frame for my Masterpiece, and added a strip of white glitter paper for a vertical element.

 

And with the Poinsettia in my design, I'm also joining the Penny Black Saturday Challenge with its Anything Goes Theme with an Option of Flowers.

 

 

We can't wait to see which of our cards inspire your design.

 

The Man with the Bag (or the Cake & Beer)

The newest prompt at Jingle Belles is to create a holiday card that features "The Man with the Bag" aka Santa Claus, Saint Nicholas, Kris Kringle (you get the picture).

I picked up a piece of 12x12" journaling cards paper from Echo Park's The Magic of Christmas Collection together with the 6" paper pad from the same collection at my local scrapbooking store last week. 

 

I have no idea why Santa has a Christmas Cake in his hand, or why his other hand was empty as if he was saying - Ta da! - but I felt like he needed something in the other hand. 

I settled on the perfectly sized Bottle of Beer brad from Eyelet Outlet - it will be perfect for several of the people on my Christmas card list.  I paired it with one of the papers from the 6" pack as well as a scrap of coffee swirled paper for the card base that matched the chocolate in the cake.

Blingy Christmas Tree

The new prompt at Jingle Belles is asking you to BLING on the Holidays.

For me the epitome of BLING are the Swirl BLING flourishes.  I conducted my BLING surgery to decorate a vintage discontinued steel rule die cut Christmas Tree #2 from Sizzix (it took me a bit to remember the sandwich to cut it out) cut from heavy white cardstock.  I used Eyelet Outlet Jewel Pink Bling to coordinate with a favorite Gelliarts print for the background.

 

 

With all of that bling, it felt like Merry & Bright was the right sentiment (this one from Impress Rubber Stamps Holiday Words).

Dashing Through the Snow

The December Memory Box Challenge is to use Patterned Paper. 

When I was looking through my product collection, I thought this adorable Memory Box Wonderland Snowman cut from white felt with a touch of glitter would look fabulous dressed in some Memory Box Patterned Paper from the Memory Box Garland paper collection.  I added a green Love from Lizi Peel Off for definition of the hat brim.

 

 

I positioned him on some snowy pattern paper from Memory Box Dashing Holiday collection.  The sentiment is from Memory Box Dashing with Reindeer ... because this cutie is ready for a snow ball fight and a cup of coffee (with an Eyelet Outlet Holiday Coffee Brad) for the Caffeinated Christmas Snowman & Coffee Challenge.  

I used a circle punch to make his mouth & two different sized googly eyes for a bit of a wonky look.

 

 

I'm also linking-up my cute little snowman wearing a hat & scarf at the Peace on Earth Christmas Challenge, and I'm joining the We Love Stamping Winter Flowers or Foliage Challenge since my snowman is decked out in pretty holiday blooms.

 

 

Hard Candy Christmas

This week at Jingle Belles for our Hard Candy Christmas, we're asking you to create a holiday card with your favorite Christmas Candy (or cookie or other holiday food).

I chose this happy little Santa journaling card as my starting point & filled his hands with a Holiday Coffee Cup and a Candy Cane (both brads from Eyelet Outlet).

 

 

I used some pretty Mintay Holiday paper and a sketch from Try Stampin' on Tuesday.

 

 

I finished with a sentiment from Impress.

We can't wait to see what delicious holiday cards fill our gallery.

A Christmas Story

At Jingle Belles the theme is still A Christmas Story where we're asking you to create a card inspired by the many holiday books or movies that we all adored in childhood (and likely still adore them today). 

So whether you love “A Christmas Carol”, “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” or “It's a Wonderful Life” we're asking you to create a card inspired by your favorite holiday book or movie.

Bumble the Abominable Snowman aka Yeti from Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer 1964 Stop Motion Animation Special has always been my favorite Yeti.  I built my card around this long-hoarded foam sticker adding the glittery star and Eyelet Outlet Candy Cane Brad in his Yeti hands. 

 

 

I paired with with snowflakes & candy cane striped designer paper with him perched on a stitched die cut oval from one of my red gelliprints.  The perfect sentiment is from Hello Bluebird Yeti or Not.
