Makeover Monday - Love My Tribe

I went back to March of 2019 for today's Makeover Monday ... when I was in a different kind of quarantine with our entire first floor (which included my studio) being repaired after being flooded by a broken pipe in our wall that adjoins the trash room in our Condominium Building.

I am very grateful that this quarantine leaves me alone in my craft room to play.  Here's my card from March 2019.

 

I swapped the grey solid for grey patterned paper from Reverse Confetti Pattern Play since I'm still going to join the Stock Your Stash Easter Challenge.

 

I swapped the pink and aqua, since that is what I had left in my stash.  I intended to stamp the sentiment in black directly on the patterned paper, but underestimated the height of those bunny tails and my MISTI wouldn't close, so I went with bright pink on a strip of white cardstock from the same Reverse Confetti My Tribe Stamp Set.

 

I just love those fuzzy little bunny tails.

 

Creating with Friends

This afternoon I joined a group of friends from across the time zones for an online crafting meet-up ... I didn't realize how much I needed it.  The friendships I have made in this industry have been the very best.  It really lifted my spirits and talk about art supplies, projects, and tater tots ... and I got several cards finished too.

Last week Tami of The Paper Forest shared a Video that featured how she had been inspired by several cards I had made (which made my heart so happy), so today I decided to join in the virtual challenges she shared on The Paper Forest Facebook Page.

Challenge #1 was to make a card using Sketch #426 at Freshly Made Sketches.  I decided to make another Easter Card using The Ink Road Eggstra Stamp Set.  I masked and stamped two of the Easter Eggs and colored them in shades of chocolate brown.

 

I paired it with chocolate colored papers from Prima's Engraver Collection and a piece of recycled packaging from the Hero Arts Die I used in yesterday evening's card for Daring Cardmaker's Recycle Challenge.

Yesterday I opened my hoarded back of Riesen's Chocolates, and I will confess I did get a bit Chocolate Wasted.

My second card was for The Paper Forest Challenge #2 - to use this color combination.

 

I used the colors for layering the Birch Press Caprice Heart Die for my first Mother's Day Card (I like to send as many cards as I can get made to all the wonderful mothers in my circle).  I love the look of those colors layered together.

 

The layout is from Julee's Mojo Monday Sketch.  Sentiment is Memory Box Big and Little Valentine's Set.

I'll Have My Peeps Call Your Peeps

Sometimes when I need to make something to help my brain relax and sleep, but I'm lacking creative mojo, I make sprayed backgrounds.  They are the perfect thing to make before bed, since they need time to dry.

The orange rectangle in this card was sprayed with three colors of orange Distress Oxide Spray and then a quick spritz of Technique Junkies Shimmering Blitz Spray after it dried for gorgeous shimmery sparkle.

Still working on that Easter Card Stash ... Easter is early this year, so I want time to get them in the mail.

The layout is a vertical version of Mojo Monday Sketch 535.

Easter Chicks

Apparently each year I buy new Easter paper products, but then don't make very many Easter Cards.  Today I tried to gather all my supplies together, so hopefully I can use them ... and get those cards mailed.

This card features papers from Echo Park Celebrate Easter Collection (love double-sided designs) and the layout from Feeling Sketchy.

 

I used some 3-D chick stickers and a stamped sentiment from Memory Box Springtime Typewriter Sentiments.

 

 

I also took some inspiration from the adorable little critters at The Card Concept.

 

Water Colored Embossed Stencil

The theme at the CAS Stencil Challenge is to use Heat Embossing with a Stencil.

 

 

I wasn't sure what to do, so I went searching at SplitcoastStampers and found this Watercolor Bokeh Technique I thought I could modify.   I used Taylored Expressions Liquid Watercolors to create my rainbow background.

Then I used a circles stencil and Gina K. Designs White Pigment Ink to apply ink.  Finally, I clear embossed the white ink.  I didn't get quite the contrast I was hoping for, but I still liked the effect ... sort of a 70's tie-dye.  I cut it into three pieces for three cards.

For the first one I used some Easter Bunny stickers and a sticker sentiment.

 

Then I found these psychedelic 3-D Pineapple stickers in my stash that worked perfectly.  You can see the embossed circles more in this card.

 

And one more fun little pineapple ... because we know that an UGH is perfect for some situations.

 

I love challenges that make me play with my supplies ... I don't do it nearly enough.

Easter Bunny

I was looking through some Pebbles Lullaby baby papers to make a card and saw this adorable bunny paper, so I switched gears.

 

I used this week's Freshly Made Sketch.  Sentiment is from Memory Box Springtime Typewrite Sentiments and I found that cute little 3-D bunny at Hobby Lobby this weekend.

 

I'm also joining the Inkspirational Challenge where the theme is Animals.

 

And Make it Monday is In the Pink.

I Heart You Chickadee

I was cleaning-up my studio, and I found a partial sheet of these adorable dimensional Easter Stickers.  I know several months until Easter ... but I couldn't resist using them on a card.

 

I die cut the Spellbinders label twice out of two shades of teal cardstock and then free-hand cut my landscape.  I attached my stickers (couldn't resist that fun rainbow belly) and then built my card around those fabulous colors using the sketch from this week's TGIF Challenge.

 

I found the perfect Pink Designer paper and then paired it with a more neutral floral pattern.  I pulled the Yellow and Green colors from the stickers to complete the design.

 

I finished with bright pink pearls and a fun sticker sentiment ... it will be perfect for lots of possible recipients when it's time to go in the mail.

Easter Showers

While my Easter Stickers were still on my studio table, I decided to join the current Cheery Eggs Fusion Card Challenge.

 Love those happy Easter colors.

Chocolat Easter Basket

When I saw the Nest full of Eggs on the cover of Chocolat at the Library Challenge, my mind immediately went to an Easter Basket filled with Chocolate Eggs (Dark Chocolate for me please)

 

I picked-up these dimensional Easter stickers on clearance a few weeks ago ... for some reason I don't make many Easter cards, but at least this one will go in the mail.  I backed my basket with blue cardstock like the book ... although my blue is a slightly different shade to coordinate with the basket.

 

I decided to build my card using the colors from the stickers and the layout from Tuesday Morning Sketches which has lots of fun layers.  Instead of a flower embellishment, I used a sentiment speech bubble from the sticker sheet.

 

It's also Chicks and Birds at the Krafty Chicks Challenge.

What a happy little card.

Coral Bunny

When I saw this sentiment in a set of Dylusions Creative Dyary Stickers, Back Chat, I could resist figuring out how to put a crown on one of my felt Easter Bunnies.

How perfect does that vintage Heidi Swapp crown sticker work with those bunny ears.

And even though I didn't use any stamps, it was inspired by the STAMPlorations CAS Challenge for March to create with Coral/Pink.

 

 

My bunny is also joining the Fluffy Challenge at Addicted to CAS.
