Somewhere Over the Rainbow

This weeks Shopping Our Stash Challenge is Somewhere Over the Rainbow - use Rainbows or Rainbow Colors on your card.

 

 

I went with a St. Patrick's Day Doodlebug Designs retired Lots O' Luck paper collection that I've had for quite some time.

 

 

 

I added a file tab sticker from the collection and a stamped happy birthday sentiment.

 

 

I was having so much rainbow fun, I made a second card for the Just Us Girls Challenge Rainbow theme.  I used a collection of Dylusions Shimmer Paints to pull a rainbow Gel Press print.

 

 

Then I added a stamped rainbow & sentiment from Essentials by Ellen Better Days Ahead (retired).  This sentiment reminds me of my Great Aunt Mary who always asked me if I was happy ... and if my answer wasn't yes, then she worked to encourage me to find happiness.  I have always been so grateful for her perspective.

Lucky

 Valentine's Day has passed, so I'm moving on to St. Patrick's Day cards. This card is made with one of the journaling cards from Doodlebug Lots O' Luck Collection.

 

 

I used the Sketch from TGIF Challenges with some fun Glitter paper for the Just Us Girls Sparkle Challenge.

 

 

I added some die cut shamrocks from Impression Obsession and tiny bits of green bling to her headband for a bit more sparkle to finish the card.

 

Here Comes Santa Claus

We're still creating with Stickers at Jingle Belles this week.  I build my card around the Here Comes Santa Claus Doodle-pops Sticker from Doodlebug Design, Inc.  I die cut a stitched circle from white and grey (for the road) to frame it using the layout from Inspire.Create.Challenges.

 

 

I paired the sticker with Doodlebug Papers and finished with Tim Holtz Christmas Label sentiments.

Happy St. Paddy's

I found the Doodlebug Lots O' Luck collection when I was looking through my studio, so decided to cut into it and make a card.

 

 

I combined one of the Journaling Cards with the lovely rainbow designer paper using a Sketch from Global Design Project.  The sentiment is a vintage tiny woodblock stamp that used to be sold in the Michael's $1 bins.  I finished with a scattering of Doodlebug Shape Sprinkles Hearts.

 

Snow Globe Christmas

Today's card is for the Let's Squash It!! Challenge to Make a Christmas Card.

 

I started by embossing the Carta Bella Christmas Words embossing folder on heavy white cardstock.

 

 

I decided to keep it simple with just a Doodlebug Design Shaker-Pops Snow Wonder Sticker.

 

 

I also took my inspiration from the Daring Cardmakers White One Word Challenge.

 

 

And I'm joining the Winter Challenge at the Make the Cards Challenge.

Creature Christmas

At Jingle Belles, the theme is still "Not a Creature Was Stirring" - creating holiday cards featuring animals.

I decided to pull out the Moose from Taylored Expressions Woodland Squad, which I die cut from Gel Press prints and textured inked cardstock for the antlers.

 

 

I couldn't resist adding some Doodlebug Shape Sprinkles - Eye See You for his eyes.

I attached him to a speckled cardstock base grounding him with a kraft cardstock strip and sentiment from Taylored Expressions Mini Strips - Holiday.

Pink Christmas Sweets

We're still creating PINK Cards at Jingle Belles to support Breast Cancer Research ... and Lauren & I will each donate $2 per card to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

I went back to Doodlebug for my card this week, but this time using three papers from the Night Before Christmas Collection with the layout from Sketch Saturday.

 

 

I swapped the polaroid for one of the cute little coordinating tags in the 6"x6" paper pad that coordinated with the background paper and brought polaroid feel in with my offset circles.

WTHeck Embellishments

This week at Shopping Our Stash we're asking you to pull out those WTHeck Embellishments from your stash ... So...what do you have in your stash that you look at and shake your head and think... What in the heck?? Why did I buy these??  How long have I had these??  Where did they even come from?? Why do I have so many of them?? How can I use them??

 

 

As I was shopping my stash, I found these large random photo corner stickers.  My only guess is that they were part of some sort of grab bag or mystery box I purchased at some point (or that they coordinated with a paper collection I no longer have).  Regardless ... why???

 

 

I decided to figure out if there was a way I could form some sort of shape with them.  I settled on a straight line on Kraft Cardstock.

 

 

I had one extra, so I paired it with it's mate to form a square and then added a sentiment from Taylored Expressions Simple Strips - Snarky using foam tape.  I finished with a few Doodlebug Heart Sprinkles Stickers pulling out three of the colors from the photo corners.

Washi Wonderful

When I saw the sketch at the Make the Cards Challenge, it just screamed Washi Tape to me, so I grabbed my new Washi Tape collections from Vilit Design and my cart full of stickers, and just had some good old paper-crafting fun this afternoon.

 

I started with the Pink Tapes on a pink speckled card base that felt like summer.  How fun are those rainbow clouds & flamingos.

 

I used a combination of sticker sentiments and an adorable Doodlebug Sprinkles Strawberry Margarita to finish the design, which is perfect for the food or drink themed card challenge at The Paper Craft Crew Challenges.

 

 

I made a second one with the same Pink Tape collection & card base ... this time with a two-toned Prima Marketing Painted Flower.

 

 

Next I played with the green tape collection.  One of the tapes had a bit of peach, so I tried it on a peach card base.  I didn't think I was going to end-up with a little boy's birthday card, but I just let the creative process take me where it wants.

 

 

 

And the final card is the classiest of the bunch ... I just kept it clean & simple on a white card base.  I added a gold sticker across the wider washi pattern and paired it with a gold sticker sentiment.

 

 

I love ink and stamping ... but sometimes I just love playing with my way-to-large papercrafting collection.  Thanks to Make the Cards for the Sketch inspiration.

Stars and/or Stripes, Forever

Since it's Independence Day in the USA this week, at Jingle Belles we're creating holiday cards featuring stars or stripes (or both).

I went with candy cane striped paper from Doodlebug's Night Before Christmas Collection for my background.

 

I added a red polka dot paper and tiny tags from the same collection.  I finished with an enamel dot at the top of each tag and a Tim Holtz Idea-ology Christmas Label Sticker.

 

My layout is a rotated variation on this week's Freshly Made Sketch.
