Banner Holiday

The final Jingle Belles prompt of 2024 is Banner Holiday - to create a card inspired by our gorgeous Jingle Belles Banner (created by the uber-talented Jingle Belle Lauren).

 

 

I started my design by hunting for something in my stash I could use to create the star banner Lauren has across the top.  I found it in the Star Dies from Jaded Blossom, that I cut twice from gold glitter cardstock.

Next I hunted through my Jaded Blossom products and settled on this fun Rudolph Wine Bottle from Jaded Blossom Christmas Spirits because it had Jingle Bells that are featured multiple times in the banner.  I colored it with alcohol ink markers and a gold metallic Sharpie for the frames.  Next I framed it with a wide gold glitter frame like you see around the text in the banner.

 

 

I found some Poinsettia paper in my stash that I think was from a Simon Says Stamp card kit.  I trimmed it into two pieces (cutting out the text that was in the middle and used a Love from Lizi Gold Peel-off sticker to cover the paper seam.  I added my star banner and positioned my framed wine-bottle off to the side slightly like the frame in the banner.

I finished with a sentiment from Jaded Blossom Christmas Spirits and a sprinkling of gold embellishments.

Bikini Body

When I visited my friend Barb, I borrowed her Beached Dee Stamp. and then I had fun coloring her with Spectrum Noir Tri Blend Markers.

 

 

I used the layout from Try a Sketch on Tuesday.

 

 

I also took my Inspiration from The Paper Players Beach Time Challenge.

 

Dashing Through the Snow

We're still Dashing Through the Snow at Jingle Belles along with our Friends at the Double Trouble Challenge who are creating with Windows.

 

 

To create my Window, I used the Lawn Fawn Stitched Sentiment Banners to cut out my sentiment and attached it to the inside of the card, and then used the same die cut on the front of my card, so it could peek on through.

 

I colored my Woodware Snow Jar with Spectrum Noir Tri-Blend Markers while I was visiting my friend Beverly who loaned me the stamps (thanks so much).  Sentiment is from the same set.

We have a fun prize for one lucky participant (and Double Trouble has a prize too if you want to join all of the fun).

 

In My Wanderlust Era

This Travel Cutie image from The Sassy Club just screams Summer.  It makes me want to roll my windows down and head to the beach.

 

 

I used two sentiments from the same set together with the clouds & a bright sun from Lawn Fawn Spring Showers to complete my cute little summer scene. 

The finishing touch was with some Taylored Expressions Drip Drops for the headlights and mirrors.

What the Meep

With my win at The Color Throwdown last week, I have the privilege of Guest Designing for this week's Challenge.

 

 

I decided the colors were perfect for a stamp I got from a new-to-me stamp company - The Sassy Club.  I used the stamp set Little Genius, which I stamped in black ink and colored using only shades of the three colors from this week's Challenge.

 

 

I used three papers from in the three colors from Echo Park's Little Dreamer Boy Collection to assemble my card, finishing with a flag and some star stickers from the collection.

Wicked Strong Coffee

The June Challenge at Jaded Blossom is to make a Masculine Card.

I started with the Jaded Blossom Coffee Stain Stencil using Walnut Stain Distress Ink on Kraft cardstock.  Next I stamped & detail cut two coffee cups from Jaded Blossom Gnome Brewed, coloring the cups dark teal.

 

 

Both sentiments are from Jaded Blossom Coffee Shop.  I finished by stamping a few clusters of coffee beans from Jaded Blossom Gnome Brewed.

Zen Foiled Roadside Birthday

The newest challenge at Stay Crafty with a Blog Named Hero is Smooth - try some ink blending.

 

I ink blended a cardstock panel using the Distress Oxide Ink equivalent of the the ink colors in The Paper Players Challenge and gave the panel a spritz of Hero Arts Frost Shimmer Mist (it got a bit lost behind the foiling on the blue, but you can see it a bit on the lemon yellow ink).

 

 

Next I foiled the panel using the Hero Arts Zen Circles Hot Foil Plate with silver foil (my one other color choice).  If you look close, you can see some other circles in the background ... that would be me trying twice of foil with Decofoil instead of Hot Foil (how many times do I have to do that before I remember).  I sort of liked the effect when I was all done.

 

 

I finished by stamping the Hero Arts Roadside Messages Happy Birthday in Navy adding a bit of lemon coloring for the flags before attaching it with dimensional foam.

Hoptimist

The new Shopping Our Stash Challenge is an awesome Sketch.

I needed a beer-themed Thank You card, so I pulled out multiple beer colored GelliArts prints to create the sketch layers.

 

 

I die cut the Creative Expressions Three Cheers beer mug from white cardstock and a second time from a Gelliarts print to trim down for the beer.  I used a light grey marker on the mug for contrast with the white foam.   I paired it with a sentiment from Creative Expressions Beer Happy Set.

I finished with some golden orange gems.

Floral Sympathy

I needed a Sympathy Card, so I went to Unity Stamp  Company for some inspiration (according to the post I'm too late to join, but I didn't see any new challenge posted, so I'm joining in late).

 

 

I chose to use the colors together with inspiration elements in the photo.  I used Speckled Egg, Victorian Velvet and Gathered Twigs Distress Ink to create my woodgrain background using white cardstock scored at the 1/2 inch mark.

I stamped the flowers from Unity Stamp Company ... so kind, so caring, so you in Catherine Pooler Rose Petal Ink and colored the flowers with yellow & blue markers.

 

 

I finished with a sentiment in the same set stamped in Speckled Egg Distress Ink and some blue gem stone.

Books & Birthdays

This afternoon, I had fun creating a card inspired by the Tray in the Inspired By Challenge ... can you spot all of the ways I was inspired.

 

 

I started by gathering a collection of grey designer papers from my stash.  The background is inspired by the tray itself.   The vertical panel was inspired by the ombre of the vase.  The horizontal paper was inspired by the clock.  The smaller vertical print was inspired by the greenery & flowers.

 

 

Next I can to incorporate the books.  I stamped the larger pile of books from Waffle Flower Books and Coffee, and then I stamped the smaller pile of books on top with the little chick and her coffee cup, inspired by both the books and the glass in the tray.  I brought in the green from the leaves and the peachy-pink from the glasses and accents in the tray with my coloring.

I finished with some grey Pinkfresh Studio Essentials Crystals and a sentiment from Waffle Flower Classic Sentiments.
