For September, the challenge themes have turned to Autumn. I combined several challenges for this fun Halloween card design.
The layout is from Freshly Made Sketches. I used scraps of designer paper & a piece of my hand-made Paste Paper for the banner flags.
I used the She's Krafty and She's Just My Type Challenge from CAS-ual Fridays. My fun Halloween Text is from Fresh Squeezed Stamps Holiday Subway Series.
And the Falling For You Theme comes from The Paper Players.
The Mapquest Challenge at CAS-ual Fridays was the perfect opportunity to break out my Old Globe die cut from Die-Versions.
I started with a page from one of the many vintage atlases in my book collection and this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch.
I started with a dark green card base & cut my globe from the same paper. I backed it with light blue cardstock for contrast against the map background. I finished with an *explore* sentiment ... it will be a birthday card for a guy who loves to travel.
There are so many great Project Life cards out right now ... and they are perfect for cardmaking too. I used one (and a camera) from Studio Calico to make this card for the Banners & Flags Challenge at CAS-ual Fridays.
The Stamp & Banner are from Simon Says Stamp and the yellow puffy card is Amy Tangerine.
Since CAS-ual Fridays is celebrating Red, White & Blue, I broke out the We R Memory Keepers Red, White & Blue papers to create a fun birthday card for a bingo-lover who also loves red, white & blue.
I used a sketch from Red Hot Stampers Challenge & also took inspiration from this week's Cupcake Inspiration Challenge.
Instead of pinwheels, I punched stars from one of the designer papers (inking the edges to cover the white bits) and then added gems to the centers. The sentiment from CatsLife Press.
We're having a Biggest Loser Competition at the office ... and while unfortunately, I will not be the winner, I thought it would be fun to make cards for those who have done the best. There's a Stampy Sunday Linky Party going on at The Alley Way Stamps, so I thought I'd join that fun too.
I used the scale & sentiment from Work It Out together with a sentiment & speech bubble from Talk to Me to create my CAS design. I also used one of my favorite stamping on designer paper techniques for this week's CAS-ual Friday's Challenge (so perfect for paper piecing).
I'm also joining the Masculine Card Challenge at The Paper Players.
It always feels so good to be back in my studio after traveling ... while I love expressing my creativity through photography while I'm away, nothing beats getting inky.
I used this week's Retro Sketch together with the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge to stamp on patterned paper to create a Father's day card.
I stamped Hero Arts Cloud Background on a piece of designer paper from Fancy Pants Park Bench Collection for the background ... I love the patterned clouds. The Party Grill is a great die cut from Memory Box. I finished with an SRM Sticker Summer Sentiment that seemed perfect for the occasion.
This card started with the Basic Grey Mix 'n Match challenge ... I used papers from Life of the Party (background & sentiment circle); PB&J (red) and Picadilly (blue). The layout is from Seize the Birthday and was inspired by this gorgeous CASE Study Card by Maille Bellis.
I also incorporated this week's CAS-ual Friday Challenge for the 100th Challenge Celebration ... I went with the diagonal combination of Punches, Bling & Birthday.
Here's my card ... the bling is red pearls ... and I used two circle punches & two star punches ... sentiment is from Catslife Press ... you can fill in the recipient's birthday to personalize the card.
This card is for the No Stamp Challenge at CAS-ual Fridays. My focal image is a Penny Black Romance of Flowers sticker with an SRM Sticker Sentiment. Sketch is this week's Sweet Stop Sketch.
Since it came together so quickly, I made a second one using a Mother's Day sentiment & Penny Black Pen & Ink Sticker ... love how easy pretty stickers and papers make a card come together.
Tonight I had a little Chipboard fun with this week's CAS-ual Fridays Challenge.
I started by coloring my chipboard (grungeboard) skull with PL4 Spectrum Noir Marker (love that coverage). Next I added a spray of Pearl Glimmer Mist for sparkle. I colored my crown with Antiqued Bronze Distress Stain and added a bit of Stickles glitter.
I finished by cutting my frame & adding a Donna Downey Unity Art & Possibility sentiment using this week's CAS(E) this Sketch.
I'm also joining Less is More, where the theme is Frame It.
On my to do list for the weekend was a birthday card for a teenage boy. I decided to incorporate the Wallpaper Challenge from CAS-ual Fridays together with the sketch from Seize the Birthday.
My wallpaper background was done by stamping Hero Arts / Studio Calico Alphabet Pattern background inked with Red, Burnt Sienna and Orange ink in an ombre effect. Next I added the sentiment from Hero Arts Birthday (4) with layered die cuts and a red birthday hat to finish the design.
