More Washi Wonderland

I told you I would come back and re-visit the current Sketch at CAS(E)this Sketch for a few more cards (you can see my first group of cards here).

 

 

I thought this floral tape reminded me of RBG's Collar, so I used my new Ink Road Stamps RBG Stamps.

 

 

I stamped the collar and crown on the gel press printed corner.

 

Next I used some Coffee Cup Washi with a sentiment from STAMPlorations Literary Caffeine-ations and another Gel Press print.

 

 

And my final card today is all about Sunshine & Rainbows.

 

I combined rainbow washi tape with striped Doodlebug Baby Girl Stripes Washi with sentiment & sun from Concord & 9th Brighter Days.

I love how easy and fun these cards have been to make.

World Cardmaking Day Fun

I always love World Cardmaking Day.  I'm often on vacation exploring brick and mortar stores around the country, but this year I'm home alone in my studio connecting virtually with cardmakers around the country.

This is Vanessa the owner (click here for sale code & terms) of one of my favorite stores, Butterfly Reflections Ink.  She took this picture of herself this morning as she ran to get more mailers to send out all of the orders from her 20% off sale that she extended through today.  She asked us to make a card inspired by this photo and tag with #BRIWCMD2020 for a chance to win a $20 voucher to her store (my order is already on its way).

 

I knew I wanted to start with Black & White stripes, and since the first striped stamp I found in my stash was My Favorite Things Writing Tablet Background, I chose their Wednesday Sketch Challenge as my layout.  After I stamped the stripes, I added some fuchsia floral paper inspired by her shirt & mask.

 

I thought the sentiment from My Favorite Things Sassy Pants Best Friends (which you can get at Vanessa's store) was perfect for today.  I finished my layout with random stickers and flowers from my stash (love the texture of the crocheted one inspired by her mask) and a scrap of paper from my #gellinktober print this morning.

You Are Not a Mess

I have friends who are spectacular ink blenders (have you seen the blends from SkyPaperScissors??) ... me, not so much.  I need lots more practice and a lighter hand.  Today I tried it with the Domed Ink Blenders from Scrapbook.com and that seemed to help me get softer edges.  

 

I wanted to do an ink-blend for the current Butterfly Reflections Ink Mood Board Challenge ... I used Tattered Rose, Crackling Campfire & Chipped Sapphire Distress Oxide ink.

 

 

After blending I did several spritzes of water.  To bring in the gold from the Mood Board, I die cut PinkFresh Studio Floral Square Dies from Gold Cardstock.  I chose two that reminded me of images in the mood board (I love that blue bloom).

 

 

The sentiment is from PinkFresh Studio My Favorite Things to Say ... and then I finished with a scattering of tiny gold gems.
