I Feel So Lucky

I want to make some St. Patrick's Day cards this week, so I can get them in the mail.  The focal image of this card is from Authentique Emerald Six cut with Simon Says Stamp Stitched Oval Die.  I used a larger die from the same set to cut the metallic gold mat.

The layout is this week's CAS(e) this Sketch with golden sequins.  The sentiment is a Tim Holtz Small Talk Sticker.

I also incorporated Ombre Stamping on the background with Hero Arts new Wallpaper Bold Prints Backgrounder for the Just Add ... Ombre Challenge.

Seek Adventures

I love being able to make cards that feature specific things that my recipients like.  

The Spellbinder's Howling Wolf is die cut from a scrap of bronze metallic paper, so he has a little shimmer in the moonlight.

Using this week's Freshly Made Sketch, I was able to find homes for three paper scraps on my studio table.  The Authentique Sticker sentiments were perfect to finish the design.

Cherish the Reason

We're still celebrating Christmas music at Jingle Belles this week.

I found this cute little Jingle Bells journaling card in my stash and built my card around it using this week's Sketch from The Paper Players.

No stamping on this one ... just beautiful Christmas Papers from Authentique and a sentiment sticker.

 

Patriotic Thanks

It's been an awesome day in the studio ... love when I can just play all day.  I broke out a little Red, White & Blue for the TGIF Challenges.

Paper are new from Authentique Honor Collection.

Sentiment is from Essentials by Ellen Fancy Thanks.  Layout is this week's Retro Sketch, which I embellished with a vintage ivory button and a few sequins.

Mother's Day

Most of the time I do a good job of working ahead on birthdays and holidays, but Mother's Day just seemed to sneak up on me this year.  So tonight I used the great layout from Match the Sketch for another Mother's Day card.

I'm also trying to find homes for orphan embellishments like this flower I found at the bottom of one of my drawers this afternoon ... it coordinated perfectly with Authentique's Classique: Beauty Collection (I love how all of their papers work so well together.

The sentiment is from Essentials by Ellen 12 Days Companion Greetings (such a versatile set) 

Birthday Roses

Tonight I needed an 80th Birthday Card, so I decided to make a bouquet of roses that will never wilt.

I die cut the Rose Garden Thinlets Roses, and then used the negative of the die cut to trace a solid piece from a yellow shimmer paper that I adhered to the back of my die cut roses (make sure you flip the negative over, so you can trace on the back of the paper, so no pencil marks show).  Using both the positive and the negative qualifies for the Make a Negative a Positive Challenge at The Mod Squad (if only all negatives were so easily turned into positives).

The sentiment is from the Rose Wonder coordinating Stamp set & background paper is from Authentique.  A little foam tape for dimension and a few pearls for embellishment, and this card is ready to go.

Fusion Serene Sympathy

When I saw this week's Fusion Card Challenge inspiration, I went searching for a peacock in my collection ... only to discover, there are none. 

So instead I tried to capture the colors and feel of the design ... and featured a different bird from Unity Stamps Sympathy & Sadness.

Papers are Authentique Classique: Elegant.  I used a yellow Kirarina Wink of Stella pen to pull a bit of that color into the design.

Floral Retirement

Retirement cards are hard for me ... do you have a good stamp set you use for retirements?

I went back through my own archives and found this Teacher Retirement card I had created using a dictionary page.  For today's card, I scanned the dictionary page, so I could re-size it to work with my design (and have it for future cards).

Once I had that part figured out, the rest came together easily using a stamped sentiment from Clearly Besotted Typed Sentiments and this week's Mojo Monday Sketch.

Papers are Authentique Carefree Bundle.

But It Can Buy Marshmallows

When I saw this Impression Obsession Stamp called Money, I knew it had to come live with me.  

I inked-it-up for the Summer Colors Challenge at the Impression Obsession Blog.  For me, the summer colors for the month of July are red, white & blue.

I also used my new Canvas Cover-A-Card Background for the card base (love it).  All papers are Authentique's Glory Collection and the Sketch is Mojo Monday.

I'm also joining the Tuesday Throwdown where the theme is Picnic ... because a picnic isn't a picnic without marshmallows and S'mores.  And Loves Rubber Stamps is celebrating Red, White & Blue.

Postal Thank You

Tonight I used this week's STAMPlorations Sketch to make a quick postal-themed thank you.  

My husband is a postal carrier, so I collect mail-themed designs.   The large stamps is vintage Judi-Kins and the letters are from Stampendous!  The papers are Authentique's Glory Collection and the *thank you* is a sticker from Doodlebug Designs.
