Glitter Valentine

The newest challenge at Shopping Our Stash is GLITTER Me Happy - make a card featuring glitter, which can include loose glitter, glitter glue, wink of Stella, Shimmer Pens, Stickles or Glitter paper. 

 

 

I decided to use glitter paper and go FULL ON GLITTER. 

I chose gold glitter paper for my card base inspired by the Poppy Stamps Midas Touch Challenge.  I die cut the Poppy Stamps Confetti Heart Collage from the Gold Glitter Cardstock.  Next I attached it to a Raspberry Glitter Foam scrap from my stash.

 

 

I added a few Twilight Ombre Glitter Dots and a sentiment from Memory Box Big and Little Valentines.

 

Anniversary Love

One type of card I always make sure I have in my card stash at the office is an Anniversary Card.  I can't even count the number of times over the years where I've gotten a rather desperate sounding call asking if I have an anniversary card available (usually when that special day is the next day ... or even worse, that day itself), so I want to make sure I can always say yes.

I decided to use the Pinkfresh Studio October Ink Blending Challenge to restock.

 

 

Inspiration came from The Paper Players Love is in the Air Theme Challenge.

 

 

I ink blended using the four shades of ink from the Pinkfresh Studio Chasing Sunsets ink quartet onto white cardstock and die cut using the largest Pinkfresh Studio Nested Arches Die.  I gave it a few spritzes with White Silver Shimmer Spray.

 

 

I stamped the sentiment from Pinkfresh Studio Around the Shape: Arches Stamp and die cut it with two of the Nested Arches Dies.  I attached the sentiment arch with foam tape and added a Pinkfresh Studio floral embellishment. 

I attached the entire stacked arch design to a piece of Pinkfresh Studio Designer paper.

Tuberose Anniversary

The August Pinkfresh Studio Challenge is to use Washi Tape.

 

 

I was asked to make an 11 year Anniversary Card, so I decided to use gorgeous Pinkfresh Studio Tuberose Washi Tape to build my card around.  I attached the washi tape to a piece of vellum, so the flowers would be more translucent and then die cut them using the coordinating Pinkfresh Studio Die Cut.

 

 

I used the Stitched Octagons Coverplate (from a Pinkfresh Studio Event) for the pink background, and then positioned the Tuberose Blooms inside the Pinfkresh Studio Mini Slimline Frame (the smallest frame fits perfection on a standard A2 Card size).

I couldn't find any Anniversary Stamps in my Pinkfresh Studio (and when I search the store, I don't see any), so instead I used the Pinkfresh Studio Heather Lowercase stamps to stamp their special year.  I punched out the numbers using a small circle punch and added a few punched hearts as an emebellishment.

 

Emboss Like a Boss

The newest Challenge at Shopping Our Stash is Emboss Like a Boss - use either Heat Embossing or Pressure Embossing (or both if you're an over-achiever).

 

I used head embossing with Wow! Flaming Lustre Embossing Powder (inspired by Marion Emberson).  I was surprised what a cool gold effect resulted on the maroon cardstock using Tim Holtz Tiny Prints background.

 

 

I topped the embossed background with stamps & die cuts from Makers Movement Say It Loud.  I added 25 number stickers to celebrate a work anniversary & framed it in gold glitter cardstock.

And you can double-up because the 613 Avenue Create Challenge is also Embossing this month.

Better With You

This afternoon I wanted to make a card for the I'll Be There for You Challenge at Stay Crafty with A Blog Named Hero.

 

 

I inked-up a stamp from Hero Arts Roadside Messages stamp set in Versafine Clair Blue Belle Ink and cut it out with the coordinating die cut. 

Then I used the same ink with the Hero Arts Stacked Circles Stencil on Navy cardstock.  I liked how the circles in the stamp were repeated in the design of the stencil.

 

 

I added a strip of textured red cardstock with two Love from Lizi Gold Metallic Peel-off strips to frame it.

Pizza & Beer

I wanted to make a card for the Inspired by Burgers & Beer Challenge.

 

 

I decided to go with Beer & Pizza from the Jaded Blossom We're Better Together set for their Anything Goes Challenge.  I stamped it on the Jaded Blossom Rounded Tag Die Cut and colored it with my alcohol ink markers.

 

 

I finished by using two designer papers for the Try Stampin' (or Not) on Tuesday Challenge Sketch.

 

 

With my ice cold mug of beer, I'm also joining the Daring Cardmakers Summer Drinks Challenge.

 

In My Heart

The February Penny Black Saturday Challenge is to incorporate Hearts or Flowers.

 

I started with a Penny Black Masterpieces Made Simple Adorable Amore.  I love how they fit exactly into the Penny Black Stitches of Love Dies to add a bit more texture.

 

 

I used the current Atlantic Hearts Sketch with a Penny Black Music Lines Sticker and another sticker sentiment.

 

 

I'm also linking-up at The Male Room Nature Challenge with my sweet winter scene.

 

All My Love

The February Poppystamps Challenge is Me & You ... the perfect opportunity  to create another valentine.

 

 

I started by die cutting the Poppystamps Heart Confetti Collage from some lovely salmony pink glitter paper.  I backed it with a soft pink marker colored paper.

 

 

Next I used the Sketch from Try Stampin' (or Not) on Tuesday and used some handmade chalk paper for the background (you can see how I made it here).

 

 

I die cut the hearts collage a second time and added hearts inside the hearts finishing with a Doodlebug Sprinkle Heart.  I replaced the heart in the sketch with a sentiment from Memory Box Big and Little Valentines stamped on the other scrap of the marker colored paper.  

I'm also joining the Somebody to Love Challenge at little red wagon.

Love Your Guts

Cathy Zielske's Love Your Guts Die Cut is one of my favorites, so I decided to pair it with one of my Gel Prints and some vellum for some fun Valentines.  I just love the combination of purple & lime green.

Since I had the papers out, I reversed the colors and made a second version.  I added some clear embellishment bubbles to this one.

Glitter Little Thing Called Love

The current Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers Challenge is G is for Glitter.

 

 

The only glitter I really like to create with is glitter paper where none of the glitter rubs off ... otherwise I invariably find glitter on my skin & all over my studio for days.

Today in the mail I got new Love You Gallery Script layering die cuts from Memory Box, so I decided to try them out on some glitter paper to see if I could create a Snarky Valentine.

I layered white cardstock on top of the red glitter and then attached the die cuts to a blue Gel Print from my stash.  I added a few Eyelet Outlet Enamel Hearts and a perfect snarky sentiment sticker.

 

 

I finished with a mat of more red glitter paper on a white cardstock base.
