I have continued to enjoy the #marchprintingchallenge with @Gelliarts on Instagram.
Day 11 was Leaves. I picked-up some silk oak leaves at The Create/Exchange and gave them a try for printing. I didn't get the full leaf detail I had hoped for, but I still loved the end result, especially with the gold metallic paint.
Day 12 was Flowers. Again, I used some silk flowers from The Create/Exchange to create some awesome texture on the plate. I love the color combination of Peach with a bit of Raspberry.
Day 13 was layers. I used a loose line stencil (that you can see part of at the top and bottom right) and printed multiple layers, moving the stencil around with each print.
For Day 14, Masks I went old-school with a Tim Holtz Idea-ology music Mask with two Simon Says Stamp inks.
Day 15 was Ombre. I created my blend with two Concord & 9th Inks ... I love the soft ombre (with hints of music from the print from Day 14).
Day 16 was Texture. I picked-up this little plastic cup thinking the texture might be fun to print with ... and it turned out my intuition was correct. The Holbein paint was really wet, so the cup slipped a bit when I rolled it. I can't wait to try it again with pink or drier paints to see how that looks.
I love learning as I create with new textures and mediums.
