I discovered that Tania Ahmed was doing a GelliPrinting January Challenge #gelprintjanuary2024 on Instagram, so I decided to join the fun.
For Day 1 Silhouette, I die cut the Hero Arts Nesting Onesie from typing paper for my Silhouette and used the Carabelle Studio Tissu Texture plate to add a bit of visual interest. I'm going to try to focus on prints I can use to make cards for the challenge.
For Day 2, Mettalics, I printed with three different metallic paints - a light silver, darker silver and a bronze using the Totally Dotty Stencil from AALL Create. I got one print with the stencil on the plate and a second after I picked it up.
For Day 3 Alcohol Ink, I printed multiple layers while the ink was still wet on the plate, using a combination of teal inks. I love the ethereal effect it produces. These will be great for die cutting.
Day 4's prompt of Roll It! had a lot of possibilities for interpretation. I chose to use a paper towel roll that I had saved in my gelli printing supplies with a combination of green paints.
And for Day 5's Feather prompt, I tried printing with some actual feathers that were in my stash without much luck, so I went with my trusty and treasured feather stamp that was carved by my friend @ginaisartsy.
And Day #6 is one of my favorite colors - PINK! I was surprised how few pink paints I had in my stash, but I pulled out my favorite bright pink and used it with a Stamperia Around the World Double Texture Stencil for some fun backgrounds.
I always love having a quick artsy challenge to do every day to keep my creating juices flowing.
