My plan for the long weekend was to continue cleaning the studio. I started with the Washi Tape drawer that was refusing to close ... and once again, I got side tracked and instead made some washi tape cards (at least I also managed through my sorting and reorganization by colors get the tape adjusted so the drawer would close). Maybe I should start a weekly series called Crafty Distractions.
The first two cards were built around the banner tape. I chose other tapes that coordinated with the flags and covered a 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" piece of lightweight cardstock before cutting it into panels.
I added a wrap of yellow & white twine and a coordinating sticker sentiment.
The second set of panels were slightly taller, so I moved the sentiment to the top & changed the twine wrap to red.
Next I tried to organize my black & white washi, which turned into making these cards. For the first 4 1/2" x 5 1/2" panel I left some white cardstock at the bottom to make room for the sticker sentiment & die cut the panel with a stitched rectangle.
For the second one, I cut the panel down to 4" x 5 1/4" after attaching the washi tape, and then framed it with a black panel. I really love how that makes the tape patterns pop.
Maybe tomorrow I'll get more cleaned-up besides a single drawer ... but hey, it's progress LOL.
