Winter Wonderland

Each night I realize I need "just one more" holiday card.  I really miss Ellen Hutson's 12 Tags of Christmas, which always helped push me over the finish line.

 

 

Tonight I started with a snow globe piece of ephemera that was on my studio table and using Atlantic Hearts Sketch to Build Around it.

 

 

I combined designer paper scraps, punched branches, Tim Holtz rub-on sentiments, and a scattering of red bling to finish the design.

Reindeer Joy

This card is for the Poppy Stamps Cool Yule! December Challenge.

 

 

It's inspired by one of my favorite sparkly holiday sweaters.  I die cut the Poppy Stamps Holiday Joy from deep red and vibrant pink.  The Poppy Stamps Whittle Rudolph was cut from kraft cardstock with a bit of inking on the antlers.

 

 

I added tiny googly eyes and a red pearl nose to finish the design.  The Pink Glitter Paper is from sister company Memory Box.

 

 

I'm also linking-up at Happy Little Stampers Christmas Challenge with an Optional theme of Festive Animals.  Simon Says Stamp is also about Christmas Critters.  Crafting Happiness Challenge is featuring Santa or Reindeer.

 

Vintage Christmas Collage

This morning's paper play in the studio had less messy incidents than yesterday (thankfully).

I created a collage around a vintage foreign postcard I picked-up at the Create/Exchange (the stamp from the postcard is on the bottom right of the card).  I took my inspiration from the Peace on Earth Christmas Challenge with my snowy house, snowy animals and pops of red.

 

 

I started with a piece of recycled packaging and a vintage piece of paper ticket to build-up the background on the ivory card base.  Next I added the postcard and built around it with vintage trading stamps, Tim Holtz Vintage pieces, and a vintage squirrel stamp from my mother-in-law's treasured stash.

 

 

I finished with a scattering of sentiment stickers and the sentiment in the circle from my Tim Holtz Ephemera.

Joy to the World

It's been one of those days in the studio where everything I touched seemed to be a mess.  I literally tried six times to foil these Hero Arts Snowflake Pattern.  I even went to watch a video to make sure I had everything lined up correctly, but the foil just wasn't adhering.  Finally after I walked away, I realized I'd been using the laminating foil & not the hot foil (I had even tried three different laminating foils before I figured it out) ... uggh.

There was also an embossing powder spill all over my paper cutter, a smashed finger that tore my fingernail, and a new die cut that just refused to cut. 

When I finally got the Spellbinders Opal Glimmer Foil to work on the navy cardstock, I figured I should call it good for tonight with this card. 

 

 

I die cut the snowflake panel using Hero Arts Rounded Rectangle Infinity Die Cuts, taking inspiration from the TGIF Challenges.

 

 

I added the adorable Doodlepops Snow Buddies and the included little snowflake elements.  I added a few more clear gems to fill the sky before mountain on a red glitter card base.  Sentiment is a Tim Holtz Christmas Sticker.

Glittery Holiday

I had a rejected panel left over from my Jaded Blossom December Challenge Card, so tonight I decided to turn it into another holiday card for the Jaded Blossom Gold Challenge. 

I used pink glitter paste with the Chevron Stencil on Gold Cardstock.

 

 

I used the Sketch from TGIF Challenges with the Jaded Blossom Holiday Treat Tag sentiment stamp.  I added a bit of bling on Santa's Hat to finish the card.

 

More Candles

Tonight I needed to re-stock my masculine birthday card stash, so I relied on a sketch from Try Stampin' on Tuesday and Echo Park Happy Birthday Boy papers.

 

 

Golden Thank You

The December Challenge at Jaded Blossom is to add some Gold to your design.

I started with some golden glitter cardstock.  Next I used the largest Jaded Blossom Stitched Diamond Die Cut two times out of gorgeous hand made paper with gold as one of the colors.  I tipped them on their sides using the layout from Sketch~N~Scrap.

 

 

I used a stitched rectangle die in the center to hold my Jaded Blossom Word Dies Thank You die cut from shiny gold cardstock.

 

 

I finished by using the colors in the handmade paper and die cut Stars from Jaded Blossom Star Dies.

Shiny Sparkly Christmas

The newest Stay Crafty With a Blog Named Hero Challenge is Shiny.

 

 

I started with the Hero Arts Sprinkled Dots Stencil with shiny silver glitter paste on navy cardstock.

 

 

Next I die cut an oval from one of my favorite shiny cardstocks - the inside of a Puffs Plus Lotion with Vicks tissue box.  I stamped the tree from Hero Arts Stylized Christmas Tree and embossed it with shiny silver embossing powder on light blue cardstock, die cut it, and attached it with foam tape for dimension. 

I added a tiny light purple star at the top of the tree to go with the sentiment from the same set.

 

 

Since my shiny is also sparkly, I'm also linking-up at the Time Out Challenges.  The Creatalicious Challenge is Anything Goes with optional Christmas Cards that are Blue & Silver.

 

 

And at Happy Little Stampers, it's an Anything Goes Stencil Challenge.

Abstract Masculine Gift Card Set

I had fun using stamps, stencils & die cuts to create a masculine gift card set.  I used several trios of ink from the Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Saturated Ink Collection.

I started with the Ink Trio 18 together with Taylored Expressions Abstract Accents Stencils & Stamps together with stamps from Taylored Expressions Field Notes and Stroke of Genius 2 on Papertrey Ink Rustic White Cardstock (love that paper).

 

 

I topped my stamped collage with Gina K. Designs Botanical Duo and Foliage Fillers in Gold Cardstock.

 

 

For this one I topped it with navy cardstock dies.

 

 

This collage uses inks from Simon Says Stamp Pawsitively Saturated Trio 22 All the Joy with the dies in Paprika.

 

 

For the final card I went back to blues and gold with the Color Throwdown Hues.
