On day 3 of my New York City Adventures with Lauren, we headed to one of my favorite outdoor spaces ... the High Line. It had changed so much since my last visit. Most of the construction was finished and there were lots of new buildings along the walk. The vegetation had really filled out.
I love the seasonal art.
And the murals.
At the end of the trail, we arrived at The Whitney Museum just as it opened. We started with the Ruth Asawa Through Line Exhibit. It was so fun to see all of the different kinds of art she created throughout her life. We loved that she was a "stamper" with all sorts of things.
Next-up was the Henry Taylor B Side Exhibit ... another life-long prolific artist with a unique point of view.
We finished with Fragments of Faith - the Art of Henry Smith.
Our next stop was our first visit to Little Island. We loved the creative use of the space.
We headed next to the only remaining rubber stamp store in New York City - Casey Rubber Stamps.
Along the way, we stopped to say hi to my dear, dear Ruth.
We also loved this mural of Michael Jackson.
We debated dinner choices and settled on doing Dim Sum again. I can't get it in Iowa, so it's a particularly special treat. This time we tried Hey Yuet where everything was fantastic, but the baked Bao Buns were so unique and delicious (I've got to try to recreate them at home).
Next we headed to the Fashion Institute of Technology Museum where the theme was Food & Fashion.
A very full, inspiring and delicious day in NYC.
Love your daily blog so much! NY is on our list!
