Love is in the Air

The Challenge at Shopping Our Stash this week is Love is in the Air.

 

 

I started with a gorgeous Alcohol Ink and foiled background (just press sheets of foil while the edges of the ink puddles are still a bit damp).  I die cut it with a stitched rectangle and then added a white mat before attaching to a red card base.

 

 

I added stacked white cardstock Heart Outlines from Essentials by Ellen Essentials Hearts Dies.   The finishing touch is a sentiment from Essentials by Ellen Valentine Vibes.

I also took my overlapping hearts & pink/red inspiration from the Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge inspiration board.

You + Me

Last year at our Scrapbook House Outing, I made lots of fun Alcohol Ink Panels.  This one featured lots of pinks including new glittery alcohol inks from Couture Creations.  It's glittery all over, but in the photo it's most visible at the top left and 

 

 

I die cut the panel with a stitched rectangle and then cut the small Essentials by Ellen heart out of the center.  I die cut the next size of Essentials by Ellen Essentials Heart and put it over the opening in the back panel before attaching the smaller die cut heart with foam tape for dimension.  I added an Essentials by Ellen Valentine Vibes sentiment in the center of the small heart.

I finished with some Pinkfresh Studio Essentials Crystals.

White-on-White Birthday

This afternoon I'm watching football and restocking my birthday card stash.

I started with the Can You Handle the Pressure Challenge of Embossing with a Twist of Borders and paired it with the White-On-White Challenge at AAA Cards Challenge.

 

I used a vintage Cuttlebug Happy Birthday Embossing Folder with heavy white cardstock.  I trimmed it down and attached it to a white card base with foam tape for the border.

To keep it Clean &  Simple, all I added was a Simon Says Stamp birthday sentiment strip.

Just Us Girls is also having a Clean & Simple Birthday Challenge, so I'm linking-up there as well.  

 

 

 

With the Candles at the top left (on the cake), I'm also linking-up at Seize the Birthday.

 

Happy St. Paddy's

I found the Doodlebug Lots O' Luck collection when I was looking through my studio, so decided to cut into it and make a card.

 

 

I combined one of the Journaling Cards with the lovely rainbow designer paper using a Sketch from Global Design Project.  The sentiment is a vintage tiny woodblock stamp that used to be sold in the Michael's $1 bins.  I finished with a scattering of Doodlebug Shape Sprinkles Hearts.

The TGIF Challenge is What Would You Do Without Stamps?

 

 

That's a pretty easy one for me, but today I'm picking Collage as the answer to that question.

I started with an inky foreign texty die cut piece with washi tape on the right side.

 

 

I added a few layers and decorated the traced butterflies with some hand-drawn bodies & some nuvo drops (you can see I got in a bit of a hurry before they dried, so there was a but of mush, but I'm okay with that).

The sentiment is a Dina Wakley Collage Words that impart a wise thought (one of the many options for sentiments that don't involve stamping).

My Time to Craft is celebrating their 500th Challenge with Numbers ... if you look at the top right of the text, you can see 1435.

Stuck On You

This week at Jingle Belles we're Stuck on You.  Stickers were one of the very first things I started collecting when I began making cards … and I'm guessing you have some in your stash too. They might be fun little 3-D images or sentiment strips … whatever your sticker of choice, we're asking you to use them on your holiday cards.

I created with one of my absolute favorite stickers - Christmas Everywhere Stickeroos from Penny Black.  I attached this gorgeous poinsettia to an ivory card base.  

 

 

The sentiment is a sticker company from the past - SRM Stickers.  So quick and easy, I had to make another one.

I'd Pick You Every Time

Love is in the Air at the Paper Craft Crew Challenge.  

I couldn't resist combining some fun foam stickers with Gel Press Prints for some cute & oh-so-easy Valentine's Day Love Cards.

 

 

I added several heart stickers to finish the design.  

This was so easy, I had to make another.

 

 

For this one, I added a sentiment from Pink Paislee Lucky Us.

 

Beautiful Blooms

The Simon Says Stamp Challenge is Beautiful Blooms.  

 

 

This collage card started with a large Tulip and then a little planting map of Bulbs blooming in June.  A favorite memory was sitting on the couch with my Grandma going through the bulb catalogue deciding on our order of which colors we would plant the next year.  I always loved the magic of them returning year-after-year.

The sentiment are more Dina Wakley Media Collage Words.

Love You

The January Challenge at Stay Crafty with A Blog Named Hero is - Crazy Little Thing Called Love.

 

 

I die cut the large Hero Arts Love You Die from a light blue and copper metallic ombre Gel Print.  I positioned it on a piece of new metallic kraft cardstock from Tim Holtz.

 

 

I finished with a sentiment and tiny love stamp from Hero Arts Sending Love Mail.
