We spent day 2 of our Spring Road trip in Davenport, Iowa.
We started with an early breakfast at The Brewed Book where we enjoyed Banana Bars and a delicious menu of Italian Soda Energy Drinks with book-themed flavors created by our Barista.
I also left with a wonderful assortment of used books and a second energy drink for the road (and a desire to make my own energy drinks at home).
Next we explored downtown and along the river on foot. We stumbled upon The Bix Beiderbecke Museum and had to take a tour. It was fun reading about his brief life and impact on the Jazz music scene.
Next stop was the Chocolte Manor where we bought a sample of delicious treats.
Next Stop was Ragged Records and Trash Can Annie.
We picked-up a selection of gifts and some things for us too.
Lunch was at Azteca 4 … the chips and salsa hit the spot.
Next stop was our third museum - The Putnam Museum. This turned out to be more of a children’s museum, but there was some interesting local history, as well as a vintage motorcycle exhibit. I wanted to take this one home with me.
We went in search of ice cream in the afternoon, but every where we tried was closed or not serving due to staffing shortages. So instead we visited StopBox Brewery where I tried a Tango Sherbet Cidar, and Rod had several of their beers.
It was another great day on our Road Trip adventures.
