Hipster Father's Day

Looking out across my June card needs, the first things that pops out is Father's Day.  

I started with some mustache inspiration from the {Cupcake Inspirations} Challenge to make a Father's Day Card.

 

 

Next I played Tic Tac Toe with the Tic Tac Toe Challenge going down the left side with Dad Image, Blue & Die Cuts.

 

 

There are some stamp sets I will likely never let go of even after they are long-ago retired ... and one would be the Hipster Stamps & Dies from Hero Arts.  The images are just so perfect for the men in my life.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts Celebrate Everyday.

 

 

Since it's the fifth Saturday in May, Sketch Saturday is going to the archives for this week's Challenge.  I went with this layout from week 394 from 2016.

 

Having a Blast!

What an absolutely gorgeous day we have in Eastern Iowa.  We've been on two walks already today and will likely take a third.  You have to take advantage of sunny days in the 70's.

I decided it was the perfect day to start on some Fourth of July cards featuring the adorable Fourth of July Gnomes from {a vintage girl} & her daughter.  There's a Memorial Day Sale at the store (through June 2nd) with 20% off any purchase of $10 or more (or use code GNOMIES2021 for 20% off any time with no minimum purchase).

I'm also joining the Gnome Doubt About It Challenge at Shopping Our Stash.

I covered a piece of star-covered designer paper with lots of gnome stickers.

 

 

Next I added some glitter stars and a strip of paper from the Doodlebug Designs Land That I Love Collection.

BLING on Christmas

Today's Jingle Belles BLING card is brought to you by Prima Say It in Pearls Spring Flower Branch (remember, embellishments don't have to be holiday to use on a holiday card).

I adhered the branch on top of a piece of Vintage Sheet music from my stash and a kraft doily on an ivory card base.

 

 

All it took to finish the design was a vintage Santa Face and a sticker sentiment.  I love the classic simplicity of the neutral color palette with the pop of Red from the Santa Hat.  The pearl leaves look similar to the Holly Leaves on Santa.

Intelligent, Strong & Fierce

The May PinkFresh Studio Challenge is anything goes with Inspiration from this picture and colors.

 

 

I used those colors (except for yellow) with the new PinkFresh Studio Floral Focus Stamp & Coordinating Stencils.

 

I added a sticker sentiment together with a stamped sentiment from My Favorite Things to Say #2 ... in case you needed to hear this today.

Periwinkle Whales

Growing-up, the Periwinkle Crayon was always one of my favorites, so I had to joint the Periwinkle Challenge at the Rainbow Card Challenge.

 

 

Strangely enough, finding Periwinkle crafting supplies in my studio proved a bit more challenge.  I did find some lovely Periwinkle Glitter Paper in the Memory Box Glitter Paper Pad, so I decided my theme would be the current Memory Box Challenge of Water.

 

 

I die cut an Oval out of the glitter paper to make a watery home for my two little Memory Box Whale Family Dies.  With my oval frame, I'm linking-up at the Frame It Challenge at Simon Says Stamp.

 

I used very combinations of light blue and lavender inks to get the periwinkle color I was looking for and then sprayed them with clear shimmer spray.

 

 

I added some eyeball stickers, some bling for the whale spouts, and finished with a sentiment from Memory Box Best Life Typewriter Sentiments.  I'm also joining the Retro Rubber Anything Goes Challenge since this sentiment stamp set dates to at least October 2019.

 

Ombre Food Adventure

This week's Waffle Flower Challenge is Travel Around the World.

 

 

For me travel is almost always (at least in part) about the food, so I chose three images from the Waffle Flower Food Adventure Set that are foods my Sister and I love to share when we travel (because even though I recently spent a week with her, I miss her already).

 

 

I added a sentiment from Waffle Flower Sisterhood and stamped them both in ombre shades of yellow/gold for the Addicted to CAS Ombre Challenge.

 

 

Sisters ... nothing better than food-loving sisters.

 

 

Thoughts and Prayers

When I saw this week's sketch at the Inspire Create Challenge, I really liked how several of the design team members used combinations of designer paper.  

 

 

Rather than use papers from a single collection, I challenged myself to go through my massive scrap basket and find papers that would work for this week's Color Throwdown - Aqua, Ice Blue, and Pale Green. 

 

 

These are the papers I decided to work with.

 

 

And this is the design I came up with.  I used the natural shape of the paper along the top of my design.

 

 

I added a sentiment from Gina K. Designs Spring Tulips - Mini (this small stamp set has four awesome sentiments).

I finished with two butterfly punches topped with Ice Blue gems to bring in a bit more of that shade into my Sea Glass inspired design.  I'm also linking-up at Simon Says Stamp Challenge to use dies and/or punches.

Bug You

The current #staycraftywithhero challenge is all about fun in the sun.

 

 

And if you're a little boy (or a big boy who still thinks he's a little bow), what's more fun in the sun than playing with bugs.

 

 

I used my Karin Brush Markers to color-up a collection of critters from the Hero Arts Bug You collection and then die cut them with the coordinating dies before creating my little hexagonal scene on some leafy designer paper. The sentiment is from Hero Arts Celebrate Everyday.

BLING on the Holidays

We're getting all blingy with it at Jingle Belles.  That means we're making cards that incorporate jewels, gem, beads, pearls, glitter, stickles or anything sparkly. Add a little or a lot, but do come and show us how your holidays can be bling-a-licious.

 

For this week's card, I started with this adorable Santa image and then mounted him on a card base covered with holly designer paper. 

My bling is the wonderful Holiday Bling from Eyelet Outlet ... I just love those blingy leaves & berries.
