Ombré Holiday Thank You

I loved the Ombré bottle trees at the Inspired By Challenge. 

 

I'm sure I have some bottle tree stamps somewhere, but when I was ready to make my card, I couldn't find them ... so one of the trees from Hero Arts Stylized Christmas Trees.  I inked each tree in three colors ranging from light to dark using my MISTI to move my paper and stamp my row of trees.

 

I won't lie, there was a boo boo or two that the sanding eraser wouldn't solve, so I added some matte bling dots to the circles on the trees.  While I was at it, I added a few enamel stars to the tops of a few of the trees.

Since I likely have enough holiday cards (but I will still be making more), I decided to #staycraftywithhero and make this card into a Holiday Thank You Card.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts Hero Greetings sending Smiles.

 

 

Alcohol Ink Glittery Yeti

I had a piece of alcohol ink colored glitter paper left over from this morning's card, so I thought it would be perfect for the Glitter & Sparkle Challenge at A Blog Named Hero.

 

I am also joining the Let's Squash It Challenge to use a Holiday Embossing Folder with some stamping.  The white cardstock base was embossed with the 3-D Textured Impressions Winter Snowflake Folder.

 

 

 

I pulled out my Hero arts Stamp & Cut Yeti Set by Kelly Purkey (because where there's snow, there's got to be a Yeti) and went with a simple card design.

 

The Wonder of the Season

The November Stock Your Stash theme at Reverse Confetti is all about Holiday or Winter.

 

 

I started by playing along with Jennifer Maguire's Video about using Alcohol Inks on Glitter paper.  I used DCWV Glitzy Cardstock, which has a completely smooth glittery surface, so my results were a bit different than hers, but it sure was fun to play.  I also didn't have white glitter, so I used pale silver with Ranger Pink Sherbet, Couture Creations Wisteria & Couture Creations Lake Pearl Ink together with blending solution.

 

 

I die cut my glitter paper to use as the background for my new Reverse Confetti Away in the Manger Confetti Cuts.  I die cut the star from glitter foam, which has a great dimension.  

 

I felt like I needed something in my Manger, and I settled on a messy wrap of Old Rose Metallic Thread for the "hay".

 

The sentiment is from Reverse Confetti Seasonal Say It All stamped in Versafine Clair Purple Delight on Silver Metallic paper and Clear Embossed.

Herb Thank You

For this card, I combined the layout from CAS(e) this Sketch! and the colors from the Color Throwdown Challenge.

 

I used new stamps from Waffle Flower - Herb Silhouettes and Essentials Sentiments.  I did their recent Grab Bag Sale and was happy with the selection of new stamps I received.

The card is also for the Waffle Flower November Giving Thanks Challenge.  The only embellishment for this CAS design were a few scattered gems.

 

 

 

Peaceful Tapestry Snowflake Tag

This month's Gina K. Designs Monthly Mix Challenge is a Double Header.

 

The challenge is first to create a tag that goes on a card ... and second to use Red & White.

I started with Gina's Red Velvet Cardstock and stamped the new Holiday Tapestry Stamp in Cherry Red Ink for a tone-on-tone design.  Then I die cut it with the middle tag from Gina's Tag Trio Die Set.  I added some Cherry Red Ribbon to the top of the tag.

 

I topped my Tapestry with one of the new dies from the Snowflake Trio Die Set (I layered two snowflakes for a bit more dimension) with an Eyelet Outlet Snowflake Bling cluster in the center.

I finished with a sentiment trimmed from the trio of words stamp from Gina K. Designs Seasonal Greetings.

I'm also joining the 25 Days of Christmas Tags Challenge.

 

My card was inspired by Lisa Tilson's Picket Fence Tag on Day 17.

A Banner Holiday

For our final prompt for 2020 at Jingle Belles, we're creating cards inspired by our 2020 Jingle Belles Banner that talented Lauren designed.

 

 

I started with the landscape shape of the header and made a horizontal skinny card design.  Next I brought in the holiday greenery with lovely papers from the Tim Holtz 2020 holiday collection ... I added a red border to make the light blue paper pop.

 

 

Rather than a garland of bells, I used a single bell with greenery & a white sentiment ribbon.  I add3ed the calendar as an homage to our tag line - taking back December one holiday card at a time.  I finished with some sticker sentiments and some red bling on the berries ... because it wouldn't be a Lauren-inspired design without some bling.

 

 

I flipped this week's Sketch Saturday for my layout.  I'm also linking-up at the Happy Holidays Challenge at Simon Says Stamp.

Say Yes To New Adventures

I love the new color combination at the Color Hues Color Challenge.

 

 

Each year for my birthday, I got to pick out the pattern and fabric and my Grandma made me an outfit.  In Junior High she made me the most gorgeous chocolate brown blazer and a pink oxford cloth dress shirt.  It was one of my favorite wardrobe combinations ... so pink and brown go way back with me.

I thought this awesome pink vintage car from the Vintage Rides Sticker page from {a vintage girl} & her daughter was the perfect image to make the star of the show.

I paired it with sentiments from GRL Power and Motivational Quotes ... and I capped it off with a little Vroom Vroom using the Vintage Typewriter Keys Stickers - all from {a vintage girl} & her daughter.

This weekend, SkyPaperScissors reminded me that Ellen Hutson's cool Modern Graphics Vol. 2 papers (by the oh-so-fun-and-talented-Julie-Ebersole) could be foiled (yep ... life-changing).  I warmed-up the laminator and added some Therm-o-Web Turquoise Decofoil to this super-fun design.

 

I broke out some other new Ellen Hutson products in my stash for the rest of the card.  The Essentials by Ellen Deer Couple were die cut from Teal cardstock (I can never resist adding a red nose) and the sentiment is from the oh-so-diverse Love and Light Stamp Set.  

 

 

The slim-line layout from Tuesday Morning Sketches allowed more of that foiled paper to shine through.

 

Abracadabra

Lauren is the Queen of Snark this week at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers where the theme is P is for Penguins.

 

 

I inked-up my Taylored Expressions If Penguins Could Talk Stamp for the occasion.  

 

I decided to also make a card for the November #TEMakerChallenge where the November Challenge is to use two or more mediums (Gel Press Print for the Penguin's Background, Stamping, and coloring with alcohol ink markers); patterned paper; and the color brown (both covered by Tim Holtz brown designer paper).

 

I used a sentiment from Taylored Expressions Big Grumpy Birthday and Mini Strips - Harvest.

 

I'm also joining Anything Goes at Seize the Birthday.
