As some of you may have heard (but most of you likely not based on lack of news coverage), Iowa experienced a weather event a week ago called a Derecho - basically an inland Category 2 hurricane. We lost power, cable, internet and had very limited cellular services last week. It was truly terrifying.
Thankfully, we are safe and have gotten power back, but are still lacking other services. As I drove home from work tonight it was amazing how many street lights are still dark with stop-and-go traffic making navigating through all of the fallen trees and debris that much more challenging.
So that's why the blog has been quiet and will be until our Internet services return, which currently has no ETA.
Holy cow, girl! I kept thinking that one of those trees was going to get uprooted any second. I'm so thankful you're both ok and safe!
