Technique Junkies March Release

My favorite stamp from the new release is the wonderful Dogwood Background ... I grew up in Missouri where the Flowering Dogwood is the State Tree ... and the harbinger of Spring (and boy could we use a little Spring in Iowa ... the snow just never ends).

 

 

I started by spraying a piece of watercolor paper with three different shades of green Shimmering Bliss Spray.  Next I stamped the image again on the same watercolor paper and detail cut the blooms to attach on top of the sprayed paper.  I used colored pencils to add shading to the center and edges of the blooms and the tree branches.

 

I framed it with green designer paper and finished with the Just For You Sentiment.

Next I had fun creating with the new Pretty Pots Background and the Do Something Creative Every Day Stamp (which is free with $30 purchase throughout March)

 

I used the rest of my three-color sprayed background and then highlighted various pots with a pink marker.  I stamped the sentiment on the edge of my paper, where the spray coverage was lighter.

Next I sprayed another piece of watercolor paper with four golden colors of Shimmering Bliss Spray.  

 

 

I stamped the new Butterfly Beauty with the Brave Enough to Fly Sentiment.

 

 

I finished with a wrap of orange ribbon and added some colored pencil highlights to that Butterfly Beauty.  

 

My next card uses the same Butterfly Beauty and pairs it with the free sentiment stamp for the month of March (free with $30 purchase) - Wildly Capable.  I added colored pencil highlights to my butterfly & my sentiment.

 

My final card features the adorable Easter Basket with the Happy Easter Sentiment on a spring colored Oxide Ink Smooshed Background ... love the yummy colors of Shaded Lilac & Barn Door ... and how cute is that little Easter Chick.
