You Mean the World to Me

What do you get when you mix a Meg Venter Retro Rainbow Rug with a 1541 Mercator globe ... today's Pottery Barn Inspiration Challenge at SplitcoastStampers.

I added a strip of rainbow designer paper to accent my Wood mounted Magenta heart-shaped globe stamp that is at least 18 years old (I found it in the 1993-2000 Magenta Catalog online).

The sentiment is a vintage Kate & Co Stamp that I would guess is at least 10 years old too (didn't you love when those used to be in the $1 bin at Michael's)

I'm also joining the CASology Earth Challenge.

 

And the theme is Mad About Stripes at the Retro Rubber Challenge.

 

#putabirdonit

It's a Rockin' Robin Prompt at this week at Jingle Belles, which means we are celebrating our fine, festive, feathered friends by asking you to make a brand new holiday card and #putabirdonit or, for those who don't speak hashtag (or Portlandia), "put a bird on it" lol!  It could be a sweet Christmas robin, fun penguins at the North Pole, a festive flamingo, or any other avian creature who strikes your fancy.

I embraced this adorable penguin from Taylored Expressions Quick Critters Winter Stamp & Die Combo ... and then built my card around him.

I accented my design with fun bingo cards & papers from the Say Cheese Collection by Simple Stories.

Since these cute little stamps & dies are from October 2017, and my blue tag has stripes (and red zig zag stripes too), I'm also linking-up at Mad About Stripes at Retro Rubber Challenge.

 

Coffee Party

My card today is inspired by The Party book cover at The Library Challenge.

 

I stamped the French Press from Ellen Hutson's A Breve Note in Teal Ink on dark teal card stock inspired by the door.  I framed it in white like the door and stamped the sentiment in teal like the title of the book.

 

To replicate the texture of the bricks, I used a textured embossing folder on red card stock and then used a darker red ink pad to bring out the texture.

Retro Birthday

I started by stamping the Technique Junkies Retro Blooms in Navy Ink on Yellow Cardstock.

Coral Bunny

When I saw this sentiment in a set of Dylusions Creative Dyary Stickers, Back Chat, I could resist figuring out how to put a crown on one of my felt Easter Bunnies.

How perfect does that vintage Heidi Swapp crown sticker work with those bunny ears.

And even though I didn't use any stamps, it was inspired by the STAMPlorations CAS Challenge for March to create with Coral/Pink.

 

 

My bunny is also joining the Fluffy Challenge at Addicted to CAS.

 

 

I'm also joining the Daring Cardmakers with their Mad March Hare Challenge.

Sticker Fun

When I saw the current Freshly Made Sketch ... and surveyed my temporary stamping space (soon, very soon I should be able to start restoring my studio at our home), I decided it was time for some sticker play ... quick, easy and no messes were made (important when you're sharing space).

Who can resist some googly eyed puppies.

Or how about some birthday cake.

 

Or maybe some birthday presents with your birthday cake.

 

Great sketch.

 

 

I'll Decide in the Car

Sisterhood of the Snarky Stampers O is for Ombre.  Since I've been working my way through a package of ombre card bases in my Alterna-Studio, I knew I was ready to go.

 

I turned to Ink Road Stamps for my source of Snark ... in this case Golden Friends ... because they are the Snarky best.  This sentiment pretty much described me today after trying to deal with some of the shoddy workmanship on getting our home repairs completed ... and for the record, I settled on a chocolate milk shake and spending some time in my girlfriend's studio (FYI ... my Golden Girl was always Dorothy).

I trimmed my first stamped sentiment to close to use with the sketch, but I couldn't throw it away ... so I paired it with a sassy Unicorn Kawaii Sticker.
