The Technique Junkies Blog has links to all of the Design Team posts for this release.
My first card features a fun new image called Puddle Jump. I started by loosely watercoloring the background and letting it dry ... then I stamped my image in dark blue ink.
The background is some hand-marbled paper that I made ... I loved the watery look with that image.
I added a wrap of navy ribbon and strips of navy cardstock to frame the design. I'm linking-up at the Anything Goes Challenge at Watercolor Wednesday.
While I was creating, I made a second card using the same techniques. For this one I added some iridescent sequins. Sometimes jumping in puddles is your own form of *Taking Flight* for the Simon Says Monday Challenge.
Another favorite stamp of the release is called Palette Knife. For my first card I inked it in three colors of purple ink to create my background. Then I cut the image into two pieces and inserted a piece of watercolor paper sprayed with Mardi Gras Purple Shimmering Bliss Spray.
I used two of the purple shades to stamp the Elvis Reverse Images from Technique Junkies Kingly Things. I trimmed each one and edged it with a darker shade and then attached them with foam tape to my Shimmering Bliss strip. I used the darkest Purple to stamp the Hound Dog sentiment (my Mom loves Elvis and her high school mascot was a Houn' Dog ... so I'm pretty sure this card might make it to her at some point).
I rotated the Palette Knife stamp the other direction and inked it with a rainbow of colors for my next card.
I wanted to let the colors shine through, so I only added a wrap of gold twine and a sentiment from Technique Junkies Einstein Quotes to finish my design.
The next card features two new stamps from the November release - Scribble Circles & Faith Hope Love. I started by spraying watercolor paper with Festive Flamingo Shimmering Bliss (I always use paper larger than my image, so I have the edges to stamp my sentiment).
The texture of the watercolor paper worked beautifully with the random circles. I added a wrap of variegated brown twine and stamped the sentiment on the more lightly sprayed edge of the watercolor Paper.
Perfect card for so many different occasions (which are good ones to have in your stash). I'm also linking-up at the Anything Goes Challenge at Simon Says Stamp.
Remember ... 15% off all new stamps through November 8th ... total of 25% off those stamps (and 10% off the rest of the order) if you use my discount code.
great cards!
