Today the My Sweet Petunia (MISTI) design team with hopping with the talented team from Alexandra Renke.
I fell in love with Alexandra Renke at Creativation. Her designs are so clean and fun with a clearly European flair ... and they are unlike anything else in the market. Her papers are so thick and luxurious. We received some free products to use for our cards, but I already had quite a little collection started, so I pulled it all out to play.
I started with the stamp set called Animals and paired it with sentiments from Best Wishes.
I created a Circus Stack of Animals in rainbow hues.
My MISTI made it very easy to line-up all of the animals ... and the solid silhouettes kept the colors so vivid.
I'm not sure how that cute little birdie is holding-up the hippo & alligator, but she's a rock star. I love the Welcome to Life sentiment too.
I stamped the banner from the Animals set in Yellow before sentiment my sentiment and then cut it out using the Sketch from the TGIF Challenges. The wonderful polka dot background paper is from Alexandra's collection (click through to the larger picture to see the wonderful shading on each of the dots). And I adore her Little Hearts Thin Washi Tape.
I'm also joining Challenge Up your Life where the theme is Oh Baby!
As I was playing with colors and stamps, I decided I needed an Elephant Parade using the Animals Stamps. Stamping a design like this is the perfect time to pull out your Memory Misti. The larger 12" surface allows you to leave your stamp in place and just move your paper to get perfect alignment.
I used two new ink colors from Catherine Pooler which perfectly matched one of my Gel Press prints from my stash.
The die cut is also from Alexandra Renke called You're the Best (it die cuts in a single piece which is nice).
I added tiny black gems for their eyes and more of that adorable Little Hearts Washi Tape.
Another MISTI tip for stamping on Die Cuts is to make your die cut ... in this case Unicorns.
Then take the die cut out (leaving the reverse opening behind) and insert your stamp into the opening and then close the lid to pick-up the stamp.
When you return your die cut piece into the opening and stamp ... it will be perfectly aligned.
For this Unicorn stamp/die combination, it actually stamps the exact same size as the die cut, so it provided a thin black edge all the way around.
I used a similar technique to stamp the stars on my oval background. I punched the oval out of a scrap of paper ... then used the oval as a mask to place my stamps on the paper behind it.
It allowed me to get perfect placement when I punched my oval from the background paper.
I used this week's CAS(E) this Sketch for my layout.
Another MISTI tip is to use your MISTI mousepad to help you line-up elements on your card front. I used the grid to perfectly align my panel that was embossed with the Alexandra Renke Dots & Stars Embossing Folder.
Love these happy colors.
The sentiment is from Alexandra Renke's Best Wishes. I added a blue dot to the Unicorn's Eye ... because I think it is likely that all Unicorns have blue eyes.
The Alexandra Renke paper is strong enough to make card bases ... I love being able to have pattern on the front & back of the card. I cut a 12-inch piece into 4" x 12" strips and folded in half.
I added some Gold Star Washi Tape and a die cut little Monkey from the Baby Rocker Set with a Die Cut Bird from Crocodile & Birds in his hand ... sentiment is from Best Wishes.
I made a second card using the bunny from Baby Rocker with the Little Hearts Washi Tape using the layout from Sketch Saturday with another sentiment from Best Wishes.
Love these cute little critters.
