When I saw the theme at Retro Rubber Challenge was Anything Goes, I decided to do some "old school" stamping tonight with some wood block stamps in my vintage collection.
My Stampington & Company Large Snowboarder is at least 8 years old. I bought it because it reminds me of my brother. He loves snowboarding and sent me a text this week about how much he enjoys it ... this card is inspired by him.
I used some blue and metallic gold watercolors to paint my mountain on a piece of watercolor paper ... and then used the same colors to do a rather abstract paint job on my snowboarder. The sentiment is from 2007 by Wordsworth by Rubber Soul (also a wood mount stamp).
I will confess, my MISTI has spoiled me ... but I was glad to see that I could still go "old school" and ink-up some of my favorites.
Fantastic card for a snowboarding young lad!! love the design, this is an awesome card. I love the feel of wood mounted stamps.

What a great card! I love the sense of movement your painted slope has - it goes so well with that fabulous sentiment. The more I look at this, the more I love it. Thanks for sharing it with us at Retro Rubber.

Fun! How cool that your brother still likes to snowboard and you could create a card inspired by his hobby! Your colors and technique really jump (or maybe I should say "glide") right off the page! Thanks for playing with the Retro Rubber challenge this week!!
