One of my favorite things about cardmaking is making cards specifically for a recipient ... using colors, images, pearls and even glitter that I know they will love.  It makes the wishes I send them all that more special.  Image and sentiment are Unity Stamp Company love. just love. regardless.

 

And the next card is for a golfer ... featuring several vintage paper items and a vintage golfing image and sentiment from Artistic Outpost's The Golf Club.

MISTI & Heffy Doodle Stamps Blog Hop

So thrilled to be hopping with Heffy Doodle and My Sweet Petunia today.  

I received the adorable Happy Snappy Crocs Stamp Set & the Jet Alphabetters Stamps.

I found a scrap of Basic Grey paper that felt like the perfect Crocodile Green ... I love being able to stamp multiple images at a time with my MISTI.

So easy-peasy.

I used the same multi-stamping process with all of my accessories, stamping the same group on several colors of cardstock.

One of my favorite accessories in the Happy Snappy Croc set is the block of cheese ... I come from a cheese-loving family.  My father managed cheese manufacturing plants when we were young, so those smells and tastes always take me right back to childhood.  One of my absolute favorite breakfasts (that I first remember sharing with my Dad at a very young age) is warm glazed donuts and super-sharp cheddar cheese (so sharp it makes that little pain behind your ears).  For me, the sharper the cheese the better.

So, I knew I would have lots of options for sending a fun cheesy birthday card (that's me ... with a big cheesy grin while I am hoarding all the cheese).

I couldn't surrounding him with a halo of cheese (I like to think he's showing-off his juggling skills).

For my second card, I wanted to re-purpose the polka dot paper bag that was included with my stamp order ... I thought it made the perfect sky for my happy little Crocodile.

 

I also couldn't resist adding some fun little eye-ball stickers.  I colored his teeth with my Dyan Reaveley White Paint Pen.  I also did something on this card that I never would have done before my MISTI ... stamped my sentiment on finished product (if you notice on many of my early cards, the sentiment was almost always on a separate piece of paper) ... no worries about messing-up with my MISTI.

 

For my final card, I used my Jet Alphabetters for part of my sentiment ... doesn't he make a perfect sommelier?

My MISTI made it easy to position my sentiment on the landscape (and stamp the SIP twice without moving my letters.

Papertrey Ink February Blog Hop Challenge

Today is the monthly Blog Hop at the PaperTrey Ink Blog ... and this is our inspiration photograph.

As I searched my stamp stash, I quickly realized there are no Easter sentiments or images ... but I do have the wonderful little Inpsired: Hope Stamp Set that I bought to make some gift card sets ... no time like the present to get started.

I picked my sherbet-like color palette from the photograph.  I embossed my green panel with the Linen & Canvas Impression Plate for fabric-like texture.

 I used the Sketch Saturday layout and added some Eyelet Outlet Blue Bumpy Bling, which reminded me of the Easter Eggs in the picture.

Inchie Little Christmas

We're celebrating a Merry LITTLE Christmas at Jingle Belles ... by creating with Inchies or Twinchies.

I went with Inchie Circles ... I found a vintage sheet of these in my crafting stash (I think they were made to go inside bottle caps).  I punched out five of them and then edged them with a black Sharpie Marker for a solid border.

The background was a leftover piece of Yupo paper from Creativation.  There was text printed on the Yupo that we then transferred to a leather bracelet using our Gel Press.  When I was finished, it was just to pretty to discard, so I splashed it with three colors of alcohol inks.  It was so fun ... and I love it as a background.

Sweet Little One

The February Reverse Confetti Sketch For You To Try comes to the rescue for a needed baby card.

I am also lovin' my new VersaFine Clair Inks (onesies are stamped in VersaFine Clair Cheerful with a single impression ... look at that coverage) and sentiment is stamped in Catherine Pooler Garden Party.  All Stamps are from Reverse Confetti Cute as a Button with coordinating Onesie Confetti Cut Die.

With my dotty background, I'm also joining the Retro Rubber Challenge.  My Reverse Confetti stamps are at least one year and 4 months old (I made my first card with them in October 2016).

 

Gel Press Birthday Wishes

When I saw the theme at Make My Monday was messy backgrounds, I knew one of my Gel Press prints would probably fit the bill.

I used one of my discarded prints (I had dry embossed it and it didn't really show-up) and used the Impression Obsession All-In-One Frame Ovals.  I was able to separate the ovals and make two cards.

For the first one, I used a scrap of dark red Gel Press print on my studio table.

There were touches of gold paint in the ovals, so I used a shimmery gold cardstock for my Impression Obsession Happy Birthday Word Die sentiment & the card base ... perfect for the Birthday Wishes Challenge at Impression Obsession (I won last month & have already done my shopping).

For my second card, I used another gold die cut sentiment, but layered my ovals on a brighter red Gel Press print.

Love that die cuts can turn throw-aways into fun messy art.

Hug in a Mug

STAMPlorations is hosting the AAA Cards Challenge where the theme is Die Cuts ONLY.

STAMPlorations has lots of fun CUTplorations dies ... I used three different dies in my design.

I started with die cutting my tag from Tag O'Coffee CUTplorations from a scrap of watercolor paper ... then the Mug (also from Tag O'Coffee) & Hug In a Mug CUTplorations Sentiment were die cut from a scrap of Gel Press Print with layers of Red Paint and a bit of blue.

I assembled my Tag and used foam tape to attach it to my light blue card base.

Crafty Biathlon

I'm playing with some Card Olympics at My Favorite Things while watching the winter sports on television.

This card is for Event #3 - the Crafty Biathlon.

The challenge was to combine a Technique from a list with a Card Type ... I chose Dry Embossing with a Z-Fold Card.

I needed a wedding card, so the Z-Fold is perfect for tucking a check or gift card in the back fold of the card (which was one of the other card types ... sort of like throwing an extra Quadruple Loop into my long program).

I also threw-in a version of Inlaid Die Cutting with my sentiment rectangle (another extra technique), as it fits into the opening on the front of the card.  I put the entire folded card through the embossing folder, so it is covered in snowflakes.

I added another rectangle of white cardstock under the sentiment to write a little message and sign our names.
