Thankful

I am always grateful when I have creative time to join in the monthly Blog Hop at PaperTrey Ink.  Today we're inspired by this lovely photograph.

Having hosted the Inspiration Challenge for years at SplitCoastStampers, I'm always amazed at how different people take different inspiration from a single photograph.  For me, my eyes went immediately to the rug under the table.  I loved the wonderful texture and the how the outlines were lighter than the rug.  

I started by die cutting ivory specialty paper with the Cover Plate: Quatrafoil Die.  I then used strong adhesive to attach it to a piece of burlap paper to bring in the texture of the rug.

I die cut my large thankful sentiment from the Counting My Blessings Die Cuts from a piece of watercolor paper that I had previously painted with Gold Stazon Studio Glaze to mimic the large gold word on the table.  I searched through my stash for a pumpkin, but instead settled on a squirrel sticker because the acorn reminded me of the pumpkins on the table.

So pretty, Steph! I just love the inspiration that you gathered from the rug. The Quatrafoil pattern on burlap paper really carries the colors and texture of the rug in the photo. I chose the same 'thankful' die to make our Thanksgiving place cards this year. It was such fun to visit your blog today! ♡
