I have always loved Christmas Caroling ... standing in the cold crisp air singing my favorite songs at the top of my lungs ... just soaking-up that Christmas spirit. One year we did a Christmas Caroling Scavenger Hunt where we had all sorts of tasks we had to accomplish like sing a Carol at an empty house while the neighbors watched & signed our sheet confirming we had completed the task ... I also remember it included singing a carol while we formed a human pyramid ... such fun memories.
So this week we are making cards inspired by any holiday song. It might be one that evokes childhood memories ... or a more modern tune. Just let us know which holiday song inspired your design ... OR you can use Sheet Music in your card design (or both for bonus points).
I started by scanning in a piece of vintage music from a beginner piano book ... I actually remember playing the tunes from this book. I loved learning how to play songs where I could sing along, so Christmas Carols were my favorite time of year in piano lessons. The song itself reminded me of the year I got to play the bells (xylophone) at the city-wide inter-denominational Christmas service. I remember practicing for hours.
I intended to age the paper a bit more with vintage linen ink, but instead managed to grab a sponge that was still coated with red ink. Oh well, I called it a *happy accident* and just kept going ... thankfully I loved the end effect.
I accented my card with two golden bell brads & some poinsettia brads to anchor the corner. Since I was joining the Krafty Challenge at My Time to Craft, I used a Kraft card base together with kraft sticker sentiments to finish my design.
