I always enjoy looking back on my year of creations ... and thinking about what I want to create in the coming year.
Here are my 10 favorite non-holiday cards & artsy creations from this year in no particular order (here are my top 5 Holiday cards for 2016).
1 - Color Burst Watercolor Powders were certainly front & center in 2016 ... I love how they even made one of the oldest stamps in my collection seem fresh & new. This was a birthday card for my brother that celebrates his marvelous sense of adventure.
2 - This card featuring Lawn Fawn Legends still makes me smile ... I love the colors, the pun ... the fun. And 2016 had sequins ... lots of sequins.
3 - I had been hoarding this Rusty Pickle paper for just the right opportunity ... and in designing for Eyelet Outlet this year, I finally found it. I loved playing with all of their fun brads, bling and resin this year ... they have been such a fun company to design for (and getting to be on a design team with Lauren again is a super-bonus).
4 - I love when a clean & simple design comes together ... and this one has it all ... layout, colors and super-fun sentiments.
5 - Lauren and I had Gelli Plate Mania fun in 2016 ... seriously, girlfriend art camp is my favorite memory of the year. I also love that I created it at Lauren's house with her rub-ons, so it always reminds me of her and our friendship across the miles.
6 - Masculine Cards can be hard ... and I love how this one turned out. Not only did all of the little die cut stamped images work together without overwhelming the design ... the different elements are personalized for the recipient.
7 - There were lots of different pineapples in 2016 ... and these peacock colored ones were a favorite. I love the vibrant clean & simple design and pop art feel.
8 - In 2016 I fell in love with the elegance of off-set die cuts ... I adore all of the texture of this design and that some neglected buttons found the perfect home).
9 - I love stamps ... but I really love paper ... and this card just makes the DCWV paper sing ... I adore this color combination too.
10 - I finished my design term at the Fusion Card Challenge in 2016 ... this was one of my favorite Fusion Designs of the year. Those Essentials by Ellen flower die cuts got a work-out in 2016.
PS - 2016 was also a year of me branching out beyond making cards. I had a blast taking several fused glass classes and will continue to take them in 2017. These Monstas were my favorite.

I also joined in the local 2X2 Public Art Display for the first time ... it was so great to see my version of Grant Wood's Young Corn on display every time I went to the NewBo City Market.
