My sister & I decided to extend our annual sisters' weekend into a sisters' week ... and to spend that sisters' week on the beach. My sister's request was that the beaches have lots of seashells, so we enjoyed exploring Fort Myers Beach, Sanibel Island and Captiva Island.
We stayed at the Best Western Plus Beach Resort in Fort Myers Beach, which was absolutely perfect for us. We had a first-floor mini-suite that opened right onto the beach. It so nice to be able to just have a quick walk back to our room whenever we needed a break. We also could sit outside and watch the gorgeous sunsets.
The hotel is right near the bridge access to get on and off the island, as well as within walking distance to all of the restaurants we needed. The staff at the hotel made several restaurant recommendations, and they were all fantastic.
The Tipsy Snapper at the Sunset Beach Tropical Grill & The Playmore Tiki Bar was a favorite (and doesn't all food taste better when you're dining beach side).
We also had fun shelling & exploring the beach at the end of Captiva Island. There were so many seashells.
Of course, I added some Beachy Sanuk Yoga Sling Sandals to my collection (because it's not vacation if new shoes aren't involved).
We consumed seafood at almost every meal ... another favorite was a dozen raw oysters and grilled Sriracha Octopus from The Lighthouse Waterfront Restaurant (the Lobster Bisque was fantastic too).
We also stopped-in and visited Three Crafty Ladies where we learned you can color seashells with alcohol inks (can't wait to try this).
All-in-all a marvelous, relaxing week with lots of fun and laughter.
Your photos are beautiful and the trip looks like so much fun. I want to visit the place where all those seashells are. I have never seen so many!! Glad you had a great week. (and can I say that I am JEALOUS!!!)
