You Got This

Chemo Angels is a Non-Profit organization that pairs volunteers with patients going through chemotherapy.  I have volunteered with the organization for years in honor of my step-mom who lost her life after a valiant battle with leukemia.  I love that the cards I make hopefully brighten the days of someone fighting their own battle.

I love this sentiment from My Favorite Things Encouraging Words.  I combined it with this week's MFT Sketch Challenge using papers from Basic Grey's B-Side Collection.

The embellishment is a beautiful flat-backed resin flower from The Eyelet Outlet.

 

Washi 'Tis the Season

We're still celebrating Washi Tape at Jingle Belles with our sponsor, The Eyelet Outlet.  

I used two kinds of glitter washi (glitter red & glitter green dots) both from our sponsor Eyelet Outlet for a sort of mid-century-modern design.  

I covered scraps of cardstock with washi and trimmed the pieces to work with the sketch at The Paper Players.  

Instead of a circle, I used a black chipboard ornament that I decked out with adhesive white jewels.

I'm also joining Anything Goes at the Weekly Christmas Card Challenges.

Mother's Day Fusion

We've got a vibrant photo and as always a fantastic sketch at Fusion Card Challenge.

I couldn't find any hummingbirds in my stash, so I used the colors from the photo, the flowers, and sketch for my design.

I stamped the Essentials by Ellen Mondo Magnolia three times (twice on orange and once on yellow) and used the coordinating dies to cut out my bloom.  The finishing touches were some tiny paper flowers and a sentiment from EBE 12 Days Companion Greetings.

I'm also joining the Anything Goes Challenge at Simon Says Stamp.

Than You Would the Queen

I decided to make a card to celebrate the Queen's upcoming 90th Birthday.

It's been a while since I broke out my Artistic Outpost London Underground images.

I used this week's CAS(E) this Sketch.

Donuts with Dad

Donuts hold a special place in my heart.  For a time during my childhood, Wednesday morning meant a trip to the Daylight Donut Shop with Dad.  I always suffered a bit of agony trying to pick the perfect donut.  I loved them all (except for maple ... absolutely no maple), so choosing was a challenge.

My go to choice was usually the cinnamon apple fritter, but sometimes I liked to get the orange cake donut that was frosted with a sweet orange glaze and dotted with bits of candied orange peel.  It is that delicious orange donut that inspired my card today.

I die cut three My Favorite Things donuts and added orange frosting.  One of them has the wonderful bits of candied orange peel by cutting the sprinkles out of my frosting layer and backing it with a darker orange cardstock.  

The layout is the My Favorite Things Wednesday Sketch (don't those circles look like donuts to you?).

I finished with a sentiment from the coordinating Donuts & Sprinkles Stamp Set.

Mother's Day

Most of the time I do a good job of working ahead on birthdays and holidays, but Mother's Day just seemed to sneak up on me this year.  So tonight I used the great layout from Match the Sketch for another Mother's Day card.

I'm also trying to find homes for orphan embellishments like this flower I found at the bottom of one of my drawers this afternoon ... it coordinated perfectly with Authentique's Classique: Beauty Collection (I love how all of their papers work so well together.

The sentiment is from Essentials by Ellen 12 Days Companion Greetings (such a versatile set) 

Bold Blossoms Anniversary

I love all of the bright springy colors in the April Essentials by Ellen Pin-Sights Challenge.

I pulled out some greens, pink and a purply-hued-grey as well as those gorgeous blooms for my anniversary card design.

The Essentials by Ellen Bold blooms are some of my favorite die cuts ... so perfect for lots of occasions.  Today I used a sketch from Hand Stamped Sentiments together with an Anniversary Sentiment from EBE Totally Awesome.

And of course there are sequins ... I always love a chance to add sequins.

Wedding Wishes

When I saw Mindy Kaling wearing this gorgeous kimono robe by Temperly London, I had to go check out the brand ... and I fell in love.

I e-mailed Audrey at Splitcoaststampers and suggested it would make an amazing Inspiration Challenge.  She agreed & asked me to join her.  I chose this amazing Middie Florrie Chiffon Dress to inspire my card.

I loved the layers of patterns, so I used strips of Authentique's Classique: Beauty Collection to cover my card front.

I loved the movement of those fun sandals, so I deconstructed a champagne gem flourish (I love this color) to cover the front of my card.  I cut the flourish into a number of pieces to 

This lovely design reminded me of a wedding, so I stamped Gina K's Always & Forever and embellished it with a single gem cut from the flourish on the bouquet.  The sentiment is Stampin' Up's Rose Wonder.

I finished with a yellow blooms centered with a gem brad.

I hope you find inspiration too.

My Right Kind of Weird

Have you checked out the new collection of flat-backed resin embellishments at The Eyelet Outlet ... so many possibilities.

I couldn't resist these cute little pandas.  I paired them with a Unity Stamp Company Panda (he looks like he's pouting because he can't climb up the bamboo ... pretty much how I looked every time we had to climb the rope in grade school gym class).  Sentiment is Unity too.

 

I embossed kraft cardstock with my bamboo embossing folder and then used the direct-to-paper technique with my green ink pad.  It's really easy to attach the resin using glue dots.

 

 

I also couldn't resist designing with these cute little monkeys.  I had the perfect sentiment from So Suzy Stamps (you know you think this at least once a week).

 

 

I thought the popcorn & ticket brads were perfect to represent the Circus ... I embellished with a few sequins.

 

I added a tiny bit of bling to the flowers on those cute little monkey and embellished with some floral sequins.
