Come celebrate leap day with us at The Eyelet Outlet with a fun new Color Challenge.
I took my inspiration from the floral wall in the background. My Checked Paper Flowers turned out to be a bit more blue than teal, but I think you get the picture. The flower centers are two shades of gorgeous Champagne Adhesive bling jewels.
I just love that Enjoy Life Washi Tape and the fun Coloring Book Butterfly that lighted on one of the flowers.
Taylor is back with another Share Joy Challenge. I love this challenge because it is the reason I fell in love with card-making ... because I love sharing joy with my art.
I love paper piecing Taylor's fun little Party Monsters.
I added a little Spectrum Noir pen to his tongue, hands & feet. Rather than a wrap of twine, I decided to repeat the Pennant Banner across the top of the sketch. Love this little guy.
It's also Anything Goes week at Seize the Birthday.
We're bundling-up at Jingle Belles this week ... which means creating cards that feature three or more layers.
I decided to start with Inspiration from the Essentials by Ellen February Pin-Sights Challenge.
I loved the soft pastels with the pop of darker pink in image #9, so that was my inspiration. I also wanted to include a floral element.
I die cut, stamped and water-colored my EBE Mondo Poinsettias on Ranger Distress Water Color Paper. I added gold Kirarina Wink Pen to the flower centers. Two of the coordinating leaves were stamped & detail cut (I forgot about the coordinating dies until I had already done the cutting). The layout is this week's Retro Sketches ... I swapped a border die cut for the ribbon.
I finished with sequins and a sentiment from EBE Cozy Christmas. I'm also linking-up at the Anything Goes Challenge at the Weekly Christmas Card Challenge.

I am still having a blast at my fused glass classes ... so much so, that I just signed-up for another session at The Ceramics Center (you can see previous creations here).
My plaid glass bowl turned out awesome. I love how the colors worked together. I definitely want to try this again with another color combination.
My River Tray turned out exactly as I had envisioned as well. I'd like to try another with larger pieces of frit (the little pieces of glass that you glue in the *river*).
My glass powder pieces turned out pretty cool too.
I cut the long green piece into smaller pieces and added clear glass on top and fired a second time to make some cool pendants. I also tried my hand at kiln carving. The end results weren't quite what I hoped, but I learned from the experience and have ideas to try it again.
Since you have to cut 5 or 5 layers of the paper, having a die cut machine for the kiln paper certainly makes the process go quicker.
My favorite project by far has been my broken plate. I actually have a piece almost like this that I bought at an art show years ago, and I wanted to see if I could make it a partner.
Here's the finished product after two firings (one to fuse and a second to shape it into a bowl).
Another fun part about glass is that there's really no waste ... even the tiniest scraps of glass can be made into balls to use on future projects.

I can't wait to see what these look like after they spend time in the kiln.
I started creating with a plan to make a card for several different challenges.
But after a few failed attempts, I apparently completely forgot the plan, because the finished card doesn't work for any of them.
However ... I love it and that's what matters.
The Hero Arts Stamp & Cut Baby Onesie is cut from BasicGrey B Side designer paper. The background is Hero Arts Highline Geometric Background inked with pink and two shades of orange.
Sentiment is Hero Arts Yay!
When I saw the inspiration photo at The Paper Players, I knew it was time to break-out my new Stampin' Up Balloon Punch.
I love that I can turn any scrap of paper into a balloon bouquet. I thought these balloons were more striking on black, so I used a white pen to draw the strings.
Sentiment is from Stampin' Up Rose Wonder (love that font).

In my never-ending quest to use my huge supply of designer paper, I decided to try a one layer design by stamping the Happy Birthday Collage from Impression Obsession in Dark Brown ink on some striped yellow paper from Echo Park's This & That Collection (I used dark brown because I'm really craving some chocolate cake).
I added a few gold & chocolate sequins for the perfect mailable masculine card to link-up at the Impression Obsession Jappy Birthday Challenge.
This stamp is also perfect for the sketch at CAS(e) this Sketch.
The current Unity Stamp Challenge is a color challenge.
I used scrap paper and two new Unity Stamp Sets to make some quick, CAS Masculine Birthday cards. This Vintage-Older Than Me is so fun.
I also couldn't resist this fun little Holy Cow ... I stamped it in Kraft ink.
I added foam tape to both cards for dimension, but other than that easy peasy.
