Treat Yo Self

So to celebrate, I made a card in colors that I thought Donna (and Tom) would both appreciate ... in all the glittery sparkly treat yo self wonder that the day deserves.

Autumn Neutrals

This card is inspired by the Autumn Neutrals Challenge at The Card Concept.  I loved the idea of creating an autumn design with neutral colors.

I die cut Sizzlits Autumn Gatherings from Core'dinations White-Washed Cardstock and Grey Cardstock.

I sanded the white leaves to bring in the feeling of the peeling paint on the chair.  I finished with tiny pearls and a sentiment sticker from Tim Holtz Small Talk.

Over the River

I'm joining in at the Hope You Can Cling To Challenges at Splitcoast Stampers.  This one is called *Don't Color Between the Lines* - to use a line image stamp but don't color it.

I've had this Impression Obsession Cardinal on Tree in my stash so long the price tag has completely faded ... and yet I've never inked it (shame on me).  I inked it in Navy blue for this design.

I used the layout from Just Add Ink ... I though the image had a wintry feel without any color, so I added a holiday sentiment.

Autumn Thinking of You

I wanted to make a card for the Paper Smooches Picture Perfect Challenge.

Only one problem ... I couldn't find any leaf stamps or die cuts in my Paper Smooches Stash.

Since there were leaves on my Acorns from Falling For You ... and Acorns remind me of fall as the litter the sidewalk ... that's where I started.  I paper-piece my acorns using the colors from the banner in the photo.

I added two coordinating designer papers using this week's Freshly Made Sketch.

Sentiment is from Paper Smooches Salutations.

Pink Christmas

We're dreaming of a Pink Christmas at Jingle Belles again this year ... it's the time of year that Lauren & I donate money to Breast Cancer Research for each card that links-up to our Pink the Hall prompt.

This year we'll be donating to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, which focuses strongly on the research aspect of the disease and has earned very high marks from charity evaluation sites such as Charity Navigator.

I decided to create a paper quilt with 3/4" strips of pink designer papers.

I matted it on pink shimmer paper and then added a pink-inked Circle Sentiment from Simon Says Stamp.  I added a few tiny pearls to finish the card.

Get Your Candy On

I have fun memories of Halloween as a child ... although as an adult, I hate having to dress-up in a costume.  

However, making Halloween cards still makes me smile ... especially when they feature a glittery purple owl (from Hobby Lobby)

This one was quick and easy using Doodebug October 31st papers, a Tim Holtz Sticker Sentiment (wish I had about 20 of this one) and a sketch from The Challenge.

The Paper Players are also having a Halloween Party.

Make a Wish

I have gotten so much use out of the My Favorite Things Birthday Chalkboard Greetings ... they are great for making masculine birthday cards.

I combined the MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge with the colors from Pals Paper Arts.

I added a few jeweled stars and a Tim Holtz Sticker sentiment to finish the design.
