SKETCH-ing Around the Christmas Tree

We're still creating with a Sketch at Jingle Belles this week.

I started with Lawn Fawn Snow Day Papers and Flair ... the first card features a monochromatic design.

I cut strips of red paper from the same collection to define the panels.

That card came together so quickly, I made two more ... this sketch is a great way to use up scraps.

It also works great with Project Life Cards.

It's Anything Goes this week at the Christmas Card Challenge ... and Anything Goes at Simon Says Stamp.

Live the Life

I had a blast stamping my background inspired by the April Pin-Sights Challenge at Essentials by Ellen ... I loved those messy green polka dots.

I used lots of stmaps from Bokeh Dots in Green & Pink on a piece of Charcoal & White designer paper from Amy Tangerine's Plus One Collection.

I love the combination of Green & Pink ... and a bit of glimmer from the Bronze.  The sentiment was cut from another piece of Plus One Paper.

The Layout is this week's Sunday Stamps Sketch.

Birthday Wishes

I created this card using the sketch from the current {Be Inspired} Challenge at the Unity Stamp Company.

The colors (Black, White & Gold) are from thie current Addicted to CAS Challenge.

I stamped two stamps from Unity Stamp Company's Birthday Jubilee in Black Ink on White cardstock.  I spritzed with Gold Shimmer Spray to pull in the grungy dots from the sketch.

SRM Sticker stitches are the perfect finishing touch.

Farm Window Thank You

I wanted to create a card combining the colors from the colourQ Challenge and the Sketch from The Paper Players.  

I tried several of the color combinations for the card base, but nothing was working ... then I remembered the Texture Me Challenge at Shopping Our Stash and decided to make a monochromatic base incorporating Kraft Burlap Paper from DCWV.  I thought the texture was perfect for a farmland theme.

The Die Cut is Farm Window from Die-Versions.  I finished with a Thank You sticker from Doodlebug Designs (I love these ... they make cardmaking so easy).

Than You Would the Queen

It's been a while since I inked-up some of my favorite Artistic Outpost stamps ... these are from London Underground.

I used this week's CAS(E) this Sketch.

 

I'm also joining the Vintage Challenge at Make My Monday ... because vintage can still be CAS.

Martini Solution

At the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers this week Q is for Quick ... make a card in 10 minutes.

Quick for me is clean & simple with only cardstock (cardstock scraps in this case), black ink, and a small touch of embellishment (the marker coloring on the olives).

Quick & Sassy ... Easy Peasy.  Stamps are Unity's new I Like it Dirty ... this will be my Friends with Flair card this week.

I'm also joining the Hip to Be Square Challenge at The Corrosive Challenge Blog (my card is 5" square).

Designer Drafts Birthday

I just got some new Paper Smooches goodies in the studio, so it was the perfect time to create with the new Designer Drafts Sketch.

I started with a vintage piece of 12" scrapbook paper from My Mind's Eye by Jen Allyson called The Sweetest Thing.

 

I stamped *friend* from Bold Buzzworks in Black Ink and clear embossed for a bit more pop ... one of the great thing about bold words is that you can use them with designer papers.

The Happy Birthday Banner from Blissful Banners was stamped on white cardstock, clear embossed, detail cut and attached with foam tape for dimension.  

I turned my *Poinsettia* die cut into a birthday bloom by layering 2 of the middle sized bloom with one small bloom & a black pearl.  

I finished with a few white SRM Sticker Stitches.

 I'm also joining the Spring Flowers Challenge at My Time to Craft.

Future's So Bright

It's a weekend of making graduation cards ... this one using the Sketch from My Favorite Things.

The colors are from this week's Color Throwdown (which also happen to be the Colors for the University of Iowa).

I used stamps from MFT Happy Graduation.

I added some glittery foam star stickers and created my Motor Board by using my Hexagon punch for the base and cutting an elongated diamond for the top.  

I used Gold Cord to create the tassel and attached it by tying it through a punched hole in the center of the hat.  After tying it off, I attached the top with foam tape for dimension.

Indigo Gold Mother's Day

I found some new Craft Smith Indigo Gold papers at Michael's ... I love the golden foil with the dark blues.

I used the current Cardabilities Sketch together with a new Hero Arts Happy Stamp & Cut Set.

 

My inspiration to combine black, indigo and gold came from this gorgeous picture/gown by Naeem Khan at the Runway Inspired Challenge.
