I joined in the Foodie Penpal Exchange once again this month ... and received a fantastic box of goodies from Nikki in Virginia.
Unfortunately the bottle of Bourbon sauce did not survive its journey across the miles, but thankfully everything else survived.
I won't like ... those amazing peanuts were gone within a day ... and I immediately wanted more. i've been rationing the Maple Almond Butter (I loved that I could cut a tiny opening in the corner and squeeze out a very thin ribbon on my waffles). I will admit ... I always avoid Golden Delicious Apples (too blah for me), but they make a darn tasty Apple Chip ... yum.
Edamame is a favorite snack ... and now I love them dry roasted too. Finally ... yummy crab cakes are in my future ... can't wait to try making my own.
Nikki also included a couple of packages of Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing which did not survive the Bourbon bottle explosion ... however, I will be buying a few more to try the seasoned goldflish recipe she sent my way.
Seasoned Goldfish
- 1 cup canola oil
- 1 package ranch dressing mix
- 1 teaspoon Crazy Jane Salt
- 1 teaspoon Lemon Pepper
- 3 bags of Goldfish Crackers
Whisk together everything but Goldfish. Put Goldfish in a bowl and pour dressing mix over the Goldfish. Stir periodically for 24 hours ... consume (or place in an air tight container).
I think this will be a hit at our next work food day.
Thanks again Nikki for such a fun foodie penpal exchange.
