Bebunni is the perfect image for baby cards ... so soft and sweet. My card is created using one of the Easel Card Designs from the new Bebunni Baby CD-ROM.
All of the card elements open in a *.pdf file that prints on two pages.
All you have to do is start cutting. One trick I use when I cut out images with borders is to add a bit of ink to the edges to cover-up any white bits and give a nice clean frame.
The next step is to score the Easel Card base. The lines make this very easy using my Crafter's Companion Ultimate Tool.
Next I flipped over the base to start assembling. While the sweet baby quilt looked pretty framed in white, I decided to add a piece of light blue cardstock underneath for a little softer look (I was never very good at following instructions ... just look at the comments on my elementary school grade cards ♥ ... I always like to make each design my own ).
I attached the pretty quilt-patterned paper to the center of the Easel base.
The next step was adding foam tape to the back of my quilt strip that will hold my main design upright. I centered it in the middle of the quilt, but you can place it a little further back to get a more upright image ... I just thought this Bebunni looked sweet with a bit of a recline.
Here you can see the slight dimension once the tape-backed strip is in place.
Next step is to assemble the focal panel. I attached my sweet Bebunni and then put the two small tags on each side. Crafter's Companion Extra Strong Permanent Adhesive is perfect for cards with movement ... when it says Permanent, it means it.
Next I cut out two of the buttons and threaded them using embroidery floss. I used a hole punch for the button holes & used the same inking technique around the edges of my buttons for a bit of contrast.
Almost done ... now it just needs a sentiment.
I used one of the adorable sentiments from the new Bebunni Baby stamp sets to finish my design.
Here's what the Easel Card Design looks like from the side. You can see I did a little snip on the top of the fold, so it would align with the angles on my tags.
And here is my sweet litte Bebunni from the front.
And the great thing about Easel Cards is that they fold flat for easy mailing.
I love how the Easel card can be placed on display at the baby shower ... such a fun design.
That's the sweetest little bunny ever! And you're right -- it would look great on display at a shower. I like your sense of humor (the comments on your elementary school cards -- too funny!)
