I was so excited to see Ellen Hutson was bringing back her 12 Tags of Christmas with a Feminine Twist for the holidays. The first tag is by the talented Jennifer McGuire.
She used the negative of a die cut and embossig paste to create her cool dimensional wreath design.
My first thought was to stamp and detail cut a wreath (since I have no die cuts or molding paste) ... but then I discovered I had given away my Hero Arts wreath stamp. So, embracing Jennifer's spirit of creativity, I decided to turn something unexpected into a wreath.
Can you tell what I used?
I stamped my Hero Arts Circle Doily using Library Green Archival Ink & Olive Grove Luxe Ink and clear embossed. Next I detail cut my *wreath* and then sponged on more of both inks together with some Hero Arts Neon Green for a bit of pop.
I stamped my background using the Hero Arts Stunning Snowflakes Backgrounder, but the blue was a bit brighter than I'd hoped ... so I used another great design trick and added a coat of White Picket Fence Distress Paint to soften the colors (also perfect for the current Hero Arts Holiday Challenge). Another *happy accident* was how the tiny snowflake was centered in the middle of my wreath.
I finished with some punched branches & dimensional gems, as well as a few strips of cardstock along the bottom and top to frame the design. The sentiment is from Hero Arts Naughty or Nice.
And with all those snowflakes, I'm also joining the Brrrrring it on! Challenge at the Order of the Opus Gluei.
I love the colors you used. You are a genius using the lace stamp for the wreath. This tag is gorgeous. And perfect for our OPUS GLUEI challenge. Thank you so Mich for playing with us again.

Nice tag, fab colors, Stephanie! Nice styled sentiment, too. Good idea to use your distress paint to tone down the color. :)
