Conserve to Preserve

I recently picked-up this cool Canning Jar Die Cut & Embossing Folder, and wanted to give it a try for the Canning Jar Recipe Swap at Catered Crop.  I die cut my jar from blue cardstock and then again from silver shimmer paper for the lid and clasp.

As I was thinking about how to fill my jar, I had a flashback to sitting at our dining room table when I was in the 6th Grade ... intensely drawing my entry for the Missouri Conservation Association Poster Contest ... I remember drawing a poster-sized canning jar with all sorts of farming and conservation elements inside ... with the title We Must Conserve to Preserve (no I wasn't a winner, but I did get to go to award ceremony and enjoy a big bowl of ham & beans ... oh the things I remember).

So I decided to use some fun Reminisce Dimensional Stickers to fill my jar with Iowa farmland images.  I also added some coordinating Washi Tape across the top for the Moxie Fab World Stickers & Tape Challenge.  The layout is this week's Unscripted Sketch.

Be True

For my 7th and final tag in the Unity Tag A Day Challenge, I used the colors from this week's Dynamic Duos Challenge ... Get Your Pink On.

I stamped in Primose Petals ink on Blushing Bride Cardstock using three different Unity Stamp Company sets.

Be True is from Art & Possibility ... Celebrate Life is from Everyday. EVERYWHERE .... and the bird is from the Brave Girls Club Beautiful.

Autumn Silhouette Grasses

The theme at Addicted to CAS is Autumn ... and the theme at Come and Get It Challenges is a fall color challenge ... so I combined them to make a few cards.

The first card uses Morocco Memento Ink together with Sheena's Silhouette Grasses stamps.

I used the sketch from Less is More with some white woodgrain paper for my background.

I used the same stamp set for another card with another fall color ... chalk ink called Candied Yam ... could there be a better name for an autumn ink color.

I saw lots of dancing trees and plants on my walk this morning ... I love this time of year.

Be Brave

I made another Unity Tag with some of my favorite stamps from She Sprouted Wings.

I stamped the background in India ink and then added a spot of color with my girl with wings for this week's ColourQ Challenge.

Round of Tags

I'm still having fun with the Tag A Day Challenge at the Unity Stamps Facebook Page ... I love a challenge that has me creating something every day (not feasable for every day of the month, but I can usually handle it for one week).

For today's card I found my Inspiration at the SCS Inspiration Challenge ... this White Wine Rack from The Bella Cottage inspired me to pull out my Unicorn Ink and Detail White Embossing Powder.

I never would have thought of trying my Wine Stamp from Unity's A Round of Cocktails in White ... but I love the contrast on the dark grape cardstock tag.  I also love my new grey quatrafoil patterned ribbon I picked-up at Hobby Lobby this morning (half price ribbon sucks me in every time).

Here's last night's tag ... a quicky birthday tag using washi tape and one of my favorite color combinations.

Getting In Shape for the Holidays

This week at Jingle Belles, we're getting in shape for the holidays ... that is ... making holiday cards that are not rectangular or square.  I chose my favorite Labels 20 die cut for my card shape.  I adhered the 4 three inch squares of designer paper to a scrap before centering in my die cut.

My layout is from Weekly Christmas Card Challenges.

I used papers and a chipboard Santa from Basic Grey's new 25th & Pine Collection.  Sentiment is an EAD Designs sticker.

Live Happy

Unity is still having their Tag A Day Challenge on Facebook, and I'm still having fun creating.  Tonight's tag made its way onto a card for a co-worker who is leaving to take a different job.

I stamped sentiments from Art & Possibility & Work, Play, Live Hard in India ink and then added red, orange and yellow distress inks.  I finished with a Good Luck from Paper Smooches.

Last night's tag combined Gauze Paper, Silver Sparkle Cord & Washi Tape with Unity's Grow Your Wings.

A Little Bit Oriental Blog Hop

We're celebrating Sheena's newest release with a fun Crafter's Companion Blog Hop.  The new release is called A Little Bit Oriental and features lots of great Asian-themed designs.  The collection has four beautiful stamp sets, four 5x7" embossing folder, and a paper pad with 48 sheets of coordinating patterned paper with 16 different designs.

My card is created using stamps from a set called Oriental Silhouette ... I love using Silhouette stamps on designer papers.  This card was my first attempt stamping on Tim Holtz Grid Designer Paper.

After stamping I sponged on some Memento Nautical Blue, Paris Dusk & Bamboo Leaves ink for a bit more dimension.

I tried the same design for my second card, this time framing it in black cardstock ... I think the frame really helps make the silhouette designs pop

I just love the pair of cranes in the sky.

Peace, Love, Cork & Wine

There's a Metal, Wood & Cork Challenge at the Moxie Fab World blog ... and I thought, what goes with Cork ... a little Wine of course.

I die cut my mat from Adhesive Cork by DCWV and then added the Wine from Unity's Round of Cocktails.   I added some purple pearls and glitter pen.  I finished with a Happy Birthday sentiment and some number stickers to celebrate the 90th birthday of a wine aficionado.
