This week's Inspiration Challenge comes from the lovely clothing & accessories of Monsoon. Monsoon is a woman’s fashion brand with a highly distinctive identity incorporating design elements from India, Afghanistan and the Far East. I chose this beautiful Shalina Tunic Dress to inspire my design.
The design of this dress (and the design of the Monsoon website) reminded me of the Henna Embossing Folder, so I used it on Core'dinations Cardstock and then used a nail file to sand the raised embossing, so I could get all of the little embossed details without tearing the paper.
I added an embossed strip that I embellished with pearls, which is perfect for the Pearl Challenge at the Paper Playtime Challenge. I thought it look more balanced to the left rather than the center like the dress ... it also allowed more of the beautiful embossing of the main panel to show through. I mounted the panel on black cardstock base to give it the same framed look as the dress.
After trying several different sentiment options, I decided on Journey Script, which I thought captured the exotic international feel of the Monsoon designs.
Great work, I want that tunic now too!
