Sheena has done it again with another fabulous illustrated series from Crafter's Companion called A Little Bit Magical that will be releasing on Friday the 23rd in the USA. I've seen it described as Harry Potter meets the Hobbit ... with other magical bits thrown in for good measure.
The set I used for my card is called Enchanted Doorway.
The brick wall was stamped twice on a piece Tim Holtz Seasonal Paper Stash. The paper had bits of rusty tone to it, so I used a small sponge and added more with Spiced Marmalade Distress Ink (reminds me of the red rocks I always found as a child when I was digging around in the ground in Missouri) and then added some moss with Forest Moss Distress Ink.
Next I used my Spectrum Noir Markers (GB2, GB4 & GB5) to color a glowing light to help lead you through the dark doorway. I finished with a sentiment from a set called Knowledge, which has an awesome stack of books image, a goblet, and an inkwell with a feather *pen* & lots of sentiments. I sponged on a lot more Spiced Marmalade ink for contrast and attached with foam tape for dimension.
If you love those books ... and love this style ... you're going to WANT (is NEED to strong of a word) to add these to your collection. And I know I design for them, but even if I didn't, I absolutely love how all the stamps are pre-cut and mounted and come on a great plastic binder sheet with samples of the colored images ... so inspiring.
The brick wall card is awesome!!
