I signed-up for the You've Got Mail card class at Studio Calico, and finally had the chance to play along this morning. Lisa Spangler's idea was to play with your masks and sprays with no intention of actually making something ... just for the purpose of playing with colors and techniques ... and then of course, you'll have lots of possibilities for future designs.
I started by spraying Mr. Huey's Bloomer Mist on my Studio Calico Chevron Mask. I then added a few spritzes of Heidi Swapp's Georgia Peach Iridescent Spritz that was also sitting on my craft table (yes ... a lot of my creative combinations happen due to access, not planning), which produced a cool color combination & all-over sparkle.
When I removed the stencil, I noticed the plastic chevrons were still covered in mist, so I flipped it over and pressed it into some cardstock. After the first impression, there was still ink, so I tried to line it up and press again, but it slipped slightly ... so I went it with repositioning the mask several more times ... and produced such a fun effect (which I think I like even more than the stencil itself).
I trimmed my piece down for this week's Studio Calico Sketch, adding a strip of San Francisco houses and coordinating cardstock & designer paper. I finished with a sticker sentiment.
Here's a close-up of my inky effect.
love it.

Wow!! Clever, clever girl. This is amazing. I'm not brave enough for the masking/spraying, but you've made it look like so much fun! Love, love, love this card. Bev
